| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | Could those of you that have actually met her tell the rest of us how it happened and what if anything did Love say when you met (you can leave out the personal stuff, lol). Now let's see how many stories some of you will make up? We will be able to tell which encounters actually happened. The phony ones are probably going to be from people who we don't know and have never posted here before. |

Although I'd love to meet her someday. Not to "hit on" her but rather to thank her for what she's done for me just by being who she is. :D [ November 29, 2005, 06:24 PM: Message edited by: StarHawk221 ] |

| To keep it short I met her during the second taping of the pilot for "In The Game". For being such a crazy enthusiastic fan the crowd warmer called me up, got her attention, and I got to shake her hand and say the usual "hello, I'm a huge fan" while trying not to choke on my own tongue. After the show I also got an autograph and very briefly chatted with her. I told her how much I liked If Only, and that I also came for the first taping, and how the second taping was even better than the first. Sadly the show Never was picked up, but Ghost Whisperer followed right after it, and more than makes up for it. I also came very close back in July 2002. I flew out to New Jersey to see Love perform on TRL promoting Barenaked. I was able to get on the show and introduce her performance, and was able to get an autograph through security. Though I didn't get to talk to her, she walked literally within centimeters of me. Meeting Love is one of the most fantastic experiences I've ever had, as everyone will echo shortly. | Member ![]() | I had a very interesting encounter with her. It was on May 30, 2003 (The Greatest Day Of My Life) at Atlanta's On The Bricks. This was during her "Barenaked" time, where she performed at Atlanta Centennial Park (You know, the ripped up white shirt with the black & white striped socks). When I first got there, I noticed her mom Pat standing around the stage. My biggest regret is not talking to her (I see her as my future mother-in-law). I wanted to let her know how much I appreciated Love as a fan, but she would probably think I'm crazy for noticing her. When Love got on stage my jaw just dropped. I couldn't believe it because she's been my obsession since '96. (To all the Fanhost guys, I apologize for not posting all these years. I've been coming to this board everyday since I don't remember when) Anyways, after Love performed, my biggest surprise was when she decided to sign autographs. I didn't think I even had the chance to be up close with her, but she's so nice (of course) to reach out to her fans. Now, keep this in mind, I'm a very crazy fan. All my friends know my obsession. I talk about her everyday. I really do feel like I've known her all my life. Anyways, when she was signing, I pushed aside a couple of girls and yelled out "I love you Jennifer!" ("Love" would have sounded silly) She looked at me and laughed (Which is what I wanted). I still couldn't believe that she's right there. When she was signing, I asked "Hey, can I touch you?!" She laughed again and said "Sure" and held out her arm. I swear guys, she had the most delicate skin. I couldn't believe it, I was totally star-struck. I always used this example to all my friends when I say "Dreams Do Come True" because I said the one thing I need to do before I die was to meet her. Honestly guys, I can die a happy man. Love has been my inspiration. I really feel like I know where you guys are coming from when I see your posts. -Duck |

| These sound like authentic encounters... but it'd be nice to have some photos of same... JLH access by fans has been uneven because of heavy-handed publicity/security. Some lucky fans have had private meetings with Love in public places,of course, with JLH being on her own time. And I notice that out-of-town/out-of-the-country admirers seem to have more access. Once, an Irish newspaper announced that JLH was coming to their airport! BTW: Love herself once said that her mom-manager Pat...IS "crazy" ! JLH was on Ryan Seacrest's old show on STAR-98.7 around October, 1999, and called in from her Toluca Lake home. Pat was coaxed to get on the phone but all she could say was "What's the problem here?" This was before a "Tonight" Show appearance. I noticed once, incidentally, that Angelina Jolie (who has no publicist) actually opened her limo for fans at the Tonight show (Aug.2000). If JLH would do something like that, it would be inter- esting! |

Sadly, I've never even really come close to meeting her. Closest I've been was when she was in Boston doing her BareNaked radio tour...unfortunatley I found out she had been there the day after. :( ~Katy

I didn't get a chance to shake loves hand but i did see her a few rows up from me at the Raptors vs Mavericks game at the Air Canada Center back on Nov 1st 2002. She was in Toronto taping The Tuxedo and decided to attend the game with a friend. I decided bothering her at that kind of event would be just plain wrong so I didn't go up to her. Ps. Yes i still have that ticket :D

After watching her cut the ribbon to open the sale I went into the store with my sister Sarah. It was really packed and I don't like shopping that much so while Sarah shopped I stayed close to a wall. A few feet up from me this door opened and out came Mohammend Al Fayed who owns the store about 4 rather large men and Love. She walked right past me and I just put out my hand and said 'Hi Jennifer'. At first I thought she was going to walk right past me or worse still she might think I was trying to grab her. But she stopped just for a second gave my hand a little squezze and gave me a huge smile and said 'Hi' back. Then she was lead around the store for the photo's I'm sure you have all seen. We followed her around it was great fun because the store was full of people, sometimes I was really far away from her other times I was standing right next to her. After about 30 minutes the visit to the store was over and she was taken away but it was and still is the greatest day of my life. I even let Sarah use my credit card.... | I met Love on the set of "If Only" in London. Fortunately for me, a friend of a friend was involved with the production and was able to get me in to meet/ chat with her. It was a very busy day on the set and I didn't have a lot of time to say much to Love -- just that I was a big fan and I heard "If Only" was a really good script and I was looking forward to the movie. She was very sweet, very nice to me. She shook my hand, looked me right in the eye, gave me one of those heart-melting smiles. Because it was such a hectic day on the set, I didn't take any photos. I kinda regret it now, but at the time I was so excited to be there, I didn't want to be intrusive. And being from California, I was happy to have such a great excuse to visit Londdon -- what a great city! |
