Looks like If Only has been pushed back from February 11 to April of 2004 (no set date yet). Release dates get changed all the time, so it's no big deal. Makes sense, actually -- if Love is going to do any European promotion for the film, she wouldn't want to fly to France in February, then fly back home, only to fly back to Germany for the April 1st opening. Makes sense to group the releases together so she can travel from one country to another on the same trip. So European fans in other countries: Keep your eyes open! I can't post the actual links, but you can copy and paste the following 3 web addresses for more info: http://www.cinemovies.fr/fiche_film.php?IDfilm=2294 http://www.allocine.fr/film/agenda_g...1/04/2004.html http://lelievre.olivier.free.fr/cine..._avril2004.htm

I stand corrected! I guess I CAN post links. I didn't realize that when you cut and paste a web address, it is automatically translated to a link in here. Thought I had to do something special! LOL! Learn something new every day. The only "special" thing I had to do, I guess, was be a big fan of Love! That's an easy one. ;)

I was just checking out the Intermedia website and they are listing the German release date as November 2004 now. Link. Heard anything new BooBoo? [ January 11, 2004, 10:36 PM: Message edited by: TC Visitor ]

Hmmm ... very strange, indeed. Here are my thoughts: Intermedia just re-did their website, and it had a lot of glitches. Until as recently as a few days ago, if you clicked on the link for "If Only" it would provide a synopsis, then under "Stars" -- it listed Val Kilmer! (obviously, the info for "If Only" got mixed in with another Intermedia film "Mindhunters," starring Val Kilmer). Also, the synopsis of "If Only" lists the character names as Emily and Peter ... when they were changed for the film to Samantha and Ian. So there you go! The company that MADE the movie can't even put out the right information on their own web site!! Makes me think the November 2004 date is suspect. However ... I know they are still working on getting the movie distributed in the U.S. -- and it's always better business for a film with an American star to open in America before going internationally. So maybe they are pushing back some foreign dates with the hopes that they will get a U.S. distribution deal -- and release it here first. I'll see if I can find out anything more from my source.

Another theory: I checked Garfield release dates -- they range from June 18 (U.S. opening) through summer, late summer and fall for international dates (last date I saw on there was late October -- can't remember what country). Germany's release for Garfield is August 2004. So here's my theory: much as we all love her, JLH does not have a ton of heat on her right now. But I think it's building -- with appearances on American Dreams, hopefully her own sitcom in the fall, the release of Garfield in the summer ... so maybe the foreign distributors want to hold off on releasing If Only until Garfield has been out, to capitalize on the momentum of that film if it's a hit. If Only is a smaller, more intimate dramatic film -- so it might make sense to capitalize on a bigger family comedy like Garfield, which will probably attract a larger general audience. Might put JLH in the foreign moviegoing fans' minds again ... then a few months later, they see If Only is opening, and they're more geared up to see a JLH movie again. Just a thought. Fingers crossed for all of this!
