New (Old) Jennifer Interview

Hey guys

This is an interview that was in a Swiss magazin a year ago...

I translated it and thought some of you guys might want to read it, even though it's kind of dated.

“I would like to be in love”

JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT isn’t just pretty, she’s also a talented actress and singer. Today she told us about love, family and children.

Actually, I should have met Jennifer Love Hewitt (24) in person. The actress, who is known for her part in “I what you did last summer” , should have come to Europe. Not to promote a movie, no she should have come to promote her CD “Barenaked”. But she didn’t come: She canceled her appointment. A few hours later I was talking to her – on the phone.

Interviewer: Why didn’t you come? Are you afraid of terror-attacks?

JLH: I wasn’t afraid about me. I just didn’t want to be far away from home. If something terrible should happen I couldn’t be with my family and friends. That would be horrible for me.

You are a singer and an actress, plus you’ve written and sold a script. I can’t believe you’re just 24 years old!

Sometimes I feel like 40! (She laughs) About my script: I did sell it but unfortunately it won’t be filmed. I cried a river!! But I heard that this happens to a lot of writers. That gave me comfort.

With your production-company ”Love Spell” you’ve just finished a movie. What is the movie about?

It’s a love story, with a rather sad ending. “If only” is set in London, where we were actually shooting. It was wonderful, because after shooting we could explore London. Now I’m really excited how test-audiences will react.

So you love traveling?

Yes, very much. My favourite country is Switzerland. Really! And not just because of the chocolate! When I was 10 years old we went to Switzerland and it was fantastic! I’d like to go there again.

Your CD “Barenaked” is now also available here. What age did you start singing?

Since I’m two years old! I already recorded three albums. This is the first one to be released in Switzerland. On “Barenaked” I nearly wrote all of the songs by myself.

Except for “Bobby McGee”, the famous song by Janis Joplin.

I had to be on the CD! When I was a little girl, I wanted to be cool and show my older brother Todd that I’m all grown up. I learned the whole text and sang it!

Are you close to your family?

Yes. I live with my mother and my brother Todd and his wife don’t live far from my home.

Is that your secret (to success)?

My family is supporting me very good. With them I feel so safe that I can try/dare anything.

Would you like to have children?

I love children. The director of “If only” has an eight month old son, Ben. He was sooo cute – I always looked after him and carried him around. He looked like a Mini-Elvis!

Are you in love?

No. I wouldn’t be much of a girlfriend right now, because I’m traveling a lot. But I’d love to be in love. I’ve probably seen to many romantic movies. I always thought it would be so easy to have a relationship and get married. But it’s not.

You have the girl next door image. Can you also lose your temper?

I can get very passionate when it comes to defending my point of view, yes. But I had to learn not to lose my temper. When I was fifteen I had an argument with my boyfriend. He was very hurtful – and I was so angry that I wanted to slap him. In my fury I didn’t realise that the glass door between was shut by him. I broke through the glass. I could have ended really bad. But this situation made me get a hold of myself.

The reason she doesn't came to europ for promoting barenaked, I haven't heard before :confused:
