This story is fairly weak anyway. Sinatra may have mentioned being unhappy at her board but she wasn't as mad as this foolish tabloid writer reports her to have been. Love is way too young to even know the difference, and the writers of American Dreams didn't bother to reflect how Sinatra performed in her day, they wanted ratings. Besides "These Boots Are Made for Walkin", Sinatra even had a little tune called "You Go-Go Girl", in the sixties they called those boots Go-Go Boots, the remembrance of her past career sort of leans toward a certain image, but she was a more innocent person when she performed, it was a much more innocent age. Sinatra probably just felt insulted by such a typically vain TV stunt. The writers and creators of American Dreams were at fault, not Love. |

She was pretty darn famous in her day, of course not now, she probably knows that, though there have to be quite a few of those old fans still kicking around and she discusses her career at her board with those fans. I think she was just pissed at the portrayal. Looks have very little to do with music, for music fans. Look at Seal, he looks like a trainwreck and he has a very large following and quite an impressive looking wife too, it's all just skin deep. Sinatra and Love weren't in a beauty contest, they both sang the same song. |

Simpson never attempts to mimic or portray Nancy Sinatra in any way, quite the opposite, it's a weak cover version from an even weaker, tired remake of yet another old TV series. Simpson can barely sing, she's quite a looker and has a voice of tin. |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() | Let's face it, the only reason Nancy Sinatra HAD a career was because of her last name. Give her credit, she managed to squeeze out a hit but to take her serious about being critical of Love is laughable. Sinatra is the perfect example of a one-hit wonder, trying to benifit from a famous family member (Ashlee Simpson & Hayley Duff come to mind). She can criticize Love, that is fine, it is her song originally, but she did go overboard with the comments. Funny thing is in 30 years from now we will have alot more to look back on Love's career than just a song ...... |

Careers and resumes are fine, it still comes down to a specific portrayal here. Nancy had every right to her opinion on how Nancy Sinatra's image was shown on a TV series that was supposedly taking a historic look back. We all have our tastes in music and singing, just look at any of our responses above. Whether you prefer Sinatra, Simpson, or God help us, Duff just doesn't matter in the long run, it's all entertainment. | |
