| I've read about the show planned for Oxygen TV... "Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber"... and unfortunately this looks to be a "bad-girl" role for Love... We know what happened the last time Love tried such a role..."Heartbreakers"...it flopped! :( |

It's been shown on CBS and was secured for repeated air dates on TBS, Comedy Central, etc. True Heartbreakers wasn't a blockbuster - few movies really are. If every movie had to make hundreds of millions so as not to be considered a flop studios wouldn't take the risk on anything. and moviegoers would only see a few movies per year. Heartbreakers was a successful pic in its own right. JLH was great in this role. It helped people see here in a different light from "Sarah" on Party of Five. She's an actress and roles that stretch the audience's perception of her helps to keep her from being typecast. I think Confessions will expand her image further. |

| This was posted a few days ago. At first I didn't like the idea but after reading the premise, it might be pretty neat to see her in that role. BTW, no way Heartbreakers was a flop! That's ridiculous. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it was a flop. Is that what the success of a movie is based on? Your opinion? The film made money, so if anything it was a box office success. [ July 17, 2004, 04:07 PM: Message edited by: Dolphan ] |

| Heartbreakers made about $40 million in the dying days of winter 2001 (February and early March). Not an enormous hit, not a flop. Probably would be viewed as a "modest" success. Though the payroll (Gene Hackman, Sigourney Weaver and Ray Liotta) had to be pretty hefty. HB was a cute movie, with some good moments and a nice character change of pace for Love. What always cracked me up about it was the fact that Amazonian Sigourney (at 6'0") would be the mother of little Love (5'2"). makes you wonder how short Dad was! |

| I still don't think so much about this new movie. But if you think Heartbreakers is already a flop then you also think her career is a flop? At the boxoffice, only IKWYDLS did it better. If you looking at reviews then Heartbreakers is her best movie and it scores also the best at IMDB! |

I do feel that Heartbreakers is/was a fun movie. Audrey was a very nice movie and it was a TV production. I'll hold judgement on a project that hasn't seen the light of day as yet. Slasher movies are hardly important and they're never family entertainment. They can be fun for some (yikes I watch them too) and way too violent to many others. Silence of the Lambs was an amazing flick with an ingeniously twisted story. It doesn't even fall into the typical slasher category anyway. Most slasher movies including IKWYDLS and ISKWYDLS are a dime a dozen to me. Halloween, Scream, Nightmare, IKWYDLS were successful at the box office but none were ever awarded Oscars. I like them too but I'd never choose them as anything even remotely in my top 100. [ July 18, 2004, 06:11 AM: Message edited by: i love love ] |
