I read an article that JLH had gum disease(trench mouth)a while back. For those of you who aren't familiar with this condition it is caused by a virus.JLH thinks that she picked it up in Mexico while filming one of her movies, from the water there. As a consequence of this she later needed root canal but it was so painful that she stopped the treatment. One of it's side effects is bad breath which isn't nice for a beautiful young lady to have (plus she could lose her teeth as well).Anyways what I could never understand is why JLH had to put up with such pain given the modern technics that exist today.why wasn't she simply put to "sleep"?She would have felt nothing and the dentist would have been able to finish this very important work.I don't know what happened in the end.I hope that JLH somehow did finish this dental treatment somehow in the future for her sake.

it was on a letterman show. i saw most of the interview where she was talking about it but i dont remember all of the details she mentioned. i would think that if she needed a procedure to fix any problems she was having due to having that, she would more then likely follow through with treatment. i wouldnt want to imagine what it would be like for her to go through surgeries for root canals but the pain would only be temporary. losing teeth would be permanent and im sure she doesnt want that to happen. that interview was a while ago too and im sure by now if she hadnt gotten the treatment for it, she would be having more problems and we would probably have heard something about it by now. i wouldnt worry too much about it. im sure she knows what is best for her and will do what she needs to in order to make sure she stays healthy. ------------------------- i hate typos. It's the pain and healing process after any work being done that can't be avoided. If you've ever had any major work done in your mouth you'll know what I mean. Even the removal of wisdom teeth can be a mouthful of pain. I've never had a root canal but that's a very serious procedure. Love's always had an odd look to her teeth through the years. Her problems might also be genetic. [ July 16, 2004, 04:42 AM: Message edited by: i love love ]

I love how open and unaffected Love is -- but sometimes I really wish she wouldn't talk about such personal, medical details -- telling Letterman about her trench mouth, telling Leno she threw up on her date and how she had a bladder infection ... yuk! I mean, she's not a comedian telling graphic, self-effacing stories for laughs. She should have better tales to tell -- she could still share some embarrassing moments that bring out the human side we all love in her ... but discussing the details and discomfort of trench mouth and bladder infection grosses me out (I'm sure I'm not the only one!) I know some people in here will disagree with me, but I really don't want Love to be thought of as the girl with rotting gums and a burning sensation when she pees!
