Since that special was covering '95 Love's late arrival and still small significance on the show might have made her less newsworthy to this simple TV special on VH-1. Love wasn't even hired as a permanent member of the cast at first. I believe they only contracted her for nine episodes at first. It took very little time for Love's Sarah character to rise to "the five's" importance. I think it's a big enough miracle that VH-1 even bothered to bring up Party of Five in the first place since it's premiere had been the year before in 1994. There had been a rather large viewer interest and it was threatened to be cancelled in that first year. The fans actually wrote in and/or emailed to the networks and saved it from early cancellation. I don't feel Love's initial appearance truly made the ratings difference in my opinion. It was a pretty darn good show even without Love. Love certainly helped big time in the seasons to come. |
