Greetings everyone on the messageboard:

Herbertlens had just posted an message earlier related to the same one I found on the TV Guide website. Even when Jennifer Love Hewitt succeeds it seems like there are no shortage of critics to badger her performances. I believe that many of these critics lack the sight to see beyond the fact that she is just a pretty face with no talent. Perhaps it is easy for them to look at a woman as nothing more than an object of beauty, failing to recognize her intellience, talent and hard work over a very young lifetime to be a successful entertainer.

In order have more understand the power of love I had written and sent the following letter to Michael Ausiello of TV Guide:

Dear Mr. Ausiello:

For the past weeks I have read TV Guide's online entertainment news articles about Jennifer Love Hewitt regarding to pieces of news involving her projects namely June 2, 2004 and June 14, 2004. It is to my regret that I have read some very unwelcoming and demeaning to the young and talented actress Jennifer Love Hewitt on more than one occasion from the staff of TV Guide magazine recalling long prior times as well as more recent.

It understandable that you are attempting to present your entertainment news in such a fashion to provoke a certain dry humour but TV Guide has bordered on plain insulting remarks to the hard working and under-appreciated actress. My assumption is that Jennifer Love Hewitt, if reading your criticism of her, would garner a laugh from her voice followed with the increase determination to succeed in proving you wrong. Right now, I wish to deliver her the peace of mind representing several thousands of her fans that she is trully an unbelieveable actress and entertainer in which offers far more to the screen than eye candy. Personally, I want to state that as a person who beloves her that I will not idly stand by as someone plots to hurt her in either a physical or unfoundly in a verbal way. She is a true treasure and I have no regret assuring she's protected from possible unwarranted attacks realizing her beauty and sweet but professional attitude.

I can't begin to tell you the shame your being to your magazine based on purely indecent treatment for this actress. Please recognize that I am understanding to your rights and freedoms of free speech but also note that I will issue my rights and freedoms in protest. I announce my desire to boycott TV Guide and will encourage Jennifer Love Hewitt's fans to do likewise. This protest will presist until your magazine issues an apology to her fans as well to her personally. Although your words were minor, it will make an apology that much easier. Please consider this resolution on the behalf of your magazine as a simple show of class.

I know this message and the protest is rather stern. But, I realize that you all may share this passion inside. Jennifer Love Hewitt should be happy that a messageboard this large spends so much time praising her. I truly care for her so much that I mean every word I said.

her new movie, if only, should be a showcase for her talents.

i'm not sure, but i'd be willing to bet that two of her highest grossing pictures have been i know what you did last summer and heartbreakers.

both of these movies accentuate her uhm... "endowments" and beauty overall.

i don't know what tv guide said, i'd be interested in reading their critical comments. JLH is no doubt a talented actress that deserves better, but in today's day and age, everyone is fair game. Please post the comments if you don't mind. All this being said, I like your letter and i would have signed off on it too. TV guide can kiss our a$$ for putting down our Jenny.

nice letter defending Love ...
I think one of the comments was about how ABC decided they might pick up Love's sitcom for mid-season -- the general gist of the insult was that ABC took pity on Love because she was "slumming as an American Idol correspondent" and "even Bailey's annoying girlfriend deserved better than that."
I don't know what the other comment was -- does anytone else?
We all need to have a sense of humor about ourselves and the people we idolize ... but maybe the point of the letter was that there had been a couple of negative comments about Love in a relatively short period of time -- and to complain about how they seemed to be targeting her. Garfield did well, better than expected -- and that's good news for Love, but it won't be the thing that catapults her career. She's in a bit of a dry spell right now, as we know, but she is still quite visible at awards shows, etc. -- so I guess it makes her fair game for critics who want to tear her down. As some people on this board say, though, she only needs one big hit, or one breakout role (like Charlize Theron in Monster) -- to kick things into high gear and to garner the respect I know she can command. My hope is that If Only comes out soon, to prove she can act and sing to the people who don't know it. And that she follows that up with other grown-up roles in other dramatic films.

Well done on a well written letter. It's very good and puts over your argument without going over the top. It will be interesting to see if you get a reply.

Nice letter drivenbylove. I'm happy to boycott TV Guide.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed those comments and was annoyed by them. I know you have to keep perspective and Love does do a few things that make her an easy target, but at it's heart its lazy cheap journalism and it perpetuates a negative image while she's trying to make that tricky transition from teen to adult roles.

She can take some knocks and she'll still get there.

Heh BTW, I'll join you in your boycott too. Really though it's not that hard since I've never bought a TV guide anyways. :D

Good intentions. TV guide is a monster with millions of subscribers. I hate to say a boycott may not even may them blink even once. On the other hand when they get around to criticizing Santa Claus or days off from work then we might have a chance.

A TV critic. We're pretty far down the ladder with them aren't we? ;)

They are real cynical(one of my pet peeves) and make toungue in cheek remarks about everyone in those articles. But you make a good point because I read the TV Guide News everyday at IWON.com and the last three or four times they mentioned her, they were pretty harsh. Here is yesterday's and they only took a shot at her. Kind of makes you wonder?

MAGIC TOUCH: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban fended off a trio of newcomers to maintain its hold atop the box office. Despite tumbling a steep 63 percent from last weekend's debut, the third chapter in the boy-wizard saga brought in $35.1 million for a 10-day total of $158.1 million. Vin Diesel's Pitch Black follow-up, The Chronicles of Riddick, opened at No. 2 with a so-so $24.6 million, while Nicole Kidman's black comedy remake of The Stepford Wives — alright, were they robots or not? — exceeded expectations by taking in $22.2 million for fourth place. Rounding out the top five was Garfield: The Movie, which survived a critical pummeling to gobble up a pretty fat $21.7 million. (That noise you hear is Jennifer Love Hewitt dodging a big bullet.) Finally, Shrek 2 (No. 3 with $24 million) surpassed Finding Nemo as the highest-grossing animated pic of all time.
