Why did she leave "Lizzie McGuire"?

On this other message board, people are arguing about why she left the show. They are saying that she left because she wanted more money, but I told them that she just wanted to move on. Which one is it? I also know that Disney Channel just does 65 episodes and then they are done. So could someone help me, if they know?

ive heard those things but come on she was 15 years old doing a show with an aminated character,i love the show but i guess she needed to move on

I don't think that she left the show because Disney didn't want to give her more money. It was because there only was a contract on 65 episodes, and then they made a movie, and when they were talking of making another movie, but couldn't make up their mind, so Hilary decided to move on, she didn't want to wait forever, so she decided to go on and do other projects... I think that it was a good decition, she couldn't stay with Lizzie forever, you know?
And I know that I would hate it if I was refered to as Lizzie instead of Hilary...

In this mag, I foget which it was... She said "They wanted me to do a sequel to The lizzie mcguire movie, but I thought it was just time to severe ties with her" etc, I dont remember it all.

It was PARTLY that they weren't offering quite as much money as she wanted, but it was mainly that the season II of LM would be harder since she already graduated and all that. Just wouldn't work out.

Yeah, I get it. My sister said that if Hilary stayed playing Lizzie, then that's what people would only think of Hilary has and Hilary just didn't want that anymore. I have to admit, that it was a little weird seeing her not Lizzie, but after a few movies, I got used to it. The first movie I've seen that didn't have to do with her being Lizzie was "Agent Cody Banks".
