Bethesda Softworks to Publish WET for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3

Innovative Shooter Allows Gamers to "Shoot Anytime, Anywhere"

April 27, 2009 (Rockville, MD) - Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, announced today that it will publish WETTM, an innovative action game from Artificial Mind and Movement (A2M). WET, in development for the Xbox 360®video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, is slated for a Fall 2009 release.

WET is a highly stylized third-person shooter that seamlessly blends acrobatics, gun play, and sword kills. With dual pistols and a samurai sword, you can engage in combat while sliding on floors, running on walls, jumping, flipping, and performing amazing acrobatic moves – leaving a massive body count in your wake.

"We’re very excited about the opportunity to bring WET to all gamers," said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. "Our proven success as a publisher which focuses on select, innovative titles matches up perfectly with WET’s new class of gameplay."

WET puts you in the role of Rubi Malone, a gun-for-hire, who has expertise in wetworks – covert operations that get a little messy. As Rubi, you embark on a story full of double crosses and paybacks as you visit locations around the world. Featuring a mix of humor and violence, a unique retro film visual treatment, and an original 70’s-inspired music, WET is a third- person shooter experience unlike any other.

Voicing Rubi Malone is actress Eliza Dushku, star of Fox’s Sci-Fi thriller series "Dollhouse." Dushku starred in the box office hit "Bring It On" and the television series "Tru Calling." She is also well-known for her recurring roles on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel."

WET has not yet been rated by the ESRB.

Oh boy! Is there a downloadable demo for this? I'm soooo excited! I'll have to get it! Shame it's not out sooner! I'd have stopped playing Resi 5 if it was! Will the character look like Eliza? Plus if it's Bethesda who are making it, they made Fallout 3, which is great! Awesome! finally I hope to get a game where I can here Eliza's voice! As the main character!

OMG, isn't Res Ev5 amazing!?? Mercenaries is so much fun! The story is awesome too.

I can't to start hearing more about WET. It'll probably be a while before a demo comes out though :/

Yeah Resi 5 is amazing, I too love the story line! I'm not great on Mercenaires though. A Professional mode is eeek!

Back on topic, yeah it would be amazing if it was Eliza in the game. She'd have to be rendered into the game too, hope we see behind the scenes stuff.

Any further info on a release date? As for Resi 5, they got the voices of the characters to be rendered into the game. Running, shooting, jumping etc. I wonder if they'll do this for Wet?

*sighs* (on psp lol) Ok so I went to game stop and I read on the sheets of soon to be released games that its gonna have a sept. release. I think if Im correct Sept. 8th. Dont quote me on that. Also if you wanna see a vid on the game go to G4. I believe if you type WET on a search engine it should give you something. The char. looks pretty sexy...a bit like her but not quite.

It looks pretty cool! Anyone else get a Robert Rodriguez vibe off the trailer? Looks pretty cool if you can run around walls and use a sword too! And guns! I can't wait to hear her ad-lib in the game that would be great! Thanks for the links!

Hmmm, I think so, but I'm not sure. That's a good question. I read an interview with Parry and the interviewer asked him how he liked working with Eliza (in both The New Guy and TC since this project hadn't come out yet) and he said he didn't get to work much with her, but that she's very professional in all that she does and has a great work ethic. I know he was interested in TC because of working with Eliza previously and I'd love to see the two of them in more projects together. He seems like a really awesome guy and I'm sure this will be a very fun video game!
