| He's right about Soul Survivors, but Wrong Turn was awsome, I think he's just jealous! I wonder what he told her about Sex and Breakfast Ouch! I did love it however when he said: "I think you have something that no other actor I've worked with has" So true |

I think Joss's offer was out there when Buffy was coming to an end. There might have been the "Faith" spin-off, but Eliza decided to commit to "Tru Calling". In retrospect, maybe it would have been wiser to do the spin-off, but I'm not going to second-guess Eliza's decision, perhaps she saw "Tru" as her future; I liked the show despite its minor flaws. What irks me is Fox torpedoed it just when the life vs. death plot got interesting, not to mention Tru nearly discovering the truth about her father which could have been BIG.

The interview with Joss where he comments on Eliza's abilities makes me think he has been trying to develop the right vehicle for her for quite a while. I also found it interesting he felt her talent was being wasted in the work she did post-Buffy/Angel, and that "Dollhouse" seemed to be what he's been thinking of for her since then. His creative processes are advanced SO beyond most Hollywood types it's scary! |

| Eliza's SO and Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I dont think he had been thinking of creating a show for her at all, just paying attention to her career as a friend. All the interviews indicates she asked him out for lunch for some advice and some ideas and he went to pee and came back with a show for her. Tru Calling would have been better if Eliza was in as a producer. I think she has great instincts and she was calling the writers out on how they were portraying Tru but they didnt listen. They made her seem weak and unsure of herself where she needed to be strong on confident. I can see why she may have been happy at it getting cancelled. I am just glad she is working with someone that sees her like we all see her and will give her a chance and give her a voice Last edited by Tash the Vampire Slayer; 05-17-2008 at 07:48 PM.. |

Her being a producer here gives her more imput on her character and their direction in the show. Of course it still has Joss having the final say, but I think he and the other writers will take on board Eliza's comments. |

| Member ![]() ![]() | Have to agree with both you and Andrew on that, Sonya...I thought Wrong Turn was a classic horror movie...definitely a salute to the older 70's and early 80's styles...it scared the crap outta me, I loved it, bought the dvd, and vowed to NEVER take a wrong turn ANYWHERE!!!! Yikes! ![]() |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | Bring it on I watched heaps, but wrong turn I just bought because she really isn't in that many movies that we get over here. Basically wrong turn didn't do anything that wasn't already done in a very controversial episode of The X Files called 'Home'. After its original airing, Fox Network chose not to air the episode again due to the disturbing theme. It was re-aired only once, on October 31, 1999 as a special Halloween showing. On its re-airing, it featured a TV-MA rating, the only X-Files episode to be rated as such. So whilst soul survivors was virtually unwatchable to me... and I remember reading that joss thought it might be okay at first but it suffered later in production, wrong turn just isn't original. And perhaps there is no original or new but for me knowing that the x files episode came first well it made it seem much less shocking in comparison. I think he is right in that she is really talented and some of the roles she takes just don't compliment her talents as well as they could. But I think they both deserve praise because we all know that talent they both are and we wouldn't have one without the other, dollhouse is going to be the best of the best, because that is what joss attracts. I am really excited about it! Last edited by schmemmm; 05-20-2008 at 12:08 AM.. |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | What an interesting article indeed! I must say that I can see why he would say those things about her horror movies - as much as Wrong Turn may have been a good return to classic horror I don't feel that it was really a worthy production for Eliza in terms of what she is capable of and I think that is maybe where he was leaning toward with that statement. I hope that this means he is very committed to making Dollhouse fantastic for her! ![]() Interesting what he said about SMG choices too. Oh and yes she sure is cute! ![]() |

I guess I grew tired of the Dudley Do-right save the day hero way back...I'll take a**-kickers like Eliza every time.
