I wont laugh. It is a theory a lot of Buffy fans are coming up with.

I just want someone to ask Joss and find out an answer

Echo turning out to be Faith is an interesting idea, but I wouldn't want this show to turn out to be another Buffy spin-off. If they only focus on her identity and possibly a dark past that's haunting her it's cool, but without including the whole Buffy clan.
Some are saying the clip was there just to give the trailer some edge and action, but I don't think Joss would do something that silly. The show's got it all, he doesn't need to borrow clips from other shows just to fill in the blanks. That clip was certainly slipped in there for a reason. BTW there was an eye that somewhat reminded me of Tru Calling Opening theme.
I also think Olivia Williams performance was brilliant.
Love the boots and sunglasses Echo was wearing in one of the scenes.

The clip was almost subliminal; I didn't catch it until it was pointed out that it was just after her Spanish-speak...Joss may have done it to very subtlely remind Fox that Eliza has done kick-ass stuff extremely well. I also liked the part where she disarms the guy,

points the pistol and says "I'm NOT nobody!"

Yes, and Eliza in *hawt* boots and shades

I can't see it having Echo being Faith. What about Amy Acker then? She was Fred in Angel and knew who Faith was. There's too much scope for ballsing it up imo.

Among changes I noted was the "Eliza's boots walk" is deleted and replaced with a sihouette shot of her, and the parachutist's jumpsuit is a different color. The graphics are also revised.

About the new trailer, the quality isn't as good as the 1st one when viewed larger :( , not so clear, but I like the font and the music better. Eliza in glasses gone :( Buffy scene gone!!!!!!

I absolutely love the trailer - personally I actually prefer the first version with the altering music (despite the bad text effects lol). I think the Buffy/Faith clip was just a nod for the fans personally - as mentioned, Amy Acker being in it would cause troubles if it was Buffy/Angel related and I don't think any newcomers to Whedon would be happy to find out later that it linked back.

Ooh now I need to watch the trailer again! Any excuse!

Subliminal message indeed. I didn't catch that myself. All in all, I LOVED the trailer. This show is gonna kick major a$$!!! I had to force my boyfriend to sit down and watch it (he's a jessica alba fan). After he saw it, "Woah, Eliza is hot!" Those were his words! lol

And I don't know about you guys but I'd pay millions to have Eliza programed to want me!

I seriously can't wait! This type of genre of shows pulls me in!

I dont think she will be Faith in any shape or form. I dont think this world will even touch on the Buffy world, it will be more about real world evil.

The Fuffy fans though will have other theories

We are getting promised with seeing what Eliza can do as an actor and going back to the Buffy world will just be keeping her where she has been for the last 10 years.

I think we will she glimpses of toughness for sure but it will be for that mission only.

The fact people still want Faith is a testament to Eliza....she made her someone people want to see and someone that people relate to but she is going to blow us away in this new role. She has Joss who believes in her and that is what she needs.

Hold on to your seats people

Nicely put, Tash. I've always loved Eliza as Faith, but I'm in favor of any role for her that shows her amazing versatility and talent.

I'm not only holding onto my seat, Tash, I'm strapped into it for the whole ride!

Something that can show what she's like, apart from kicking arse as Faith, was her role in City By The Sea. Still her best role to date in films, even if it was short. Now why didn't Joss mention that?
