| Perfect, thank you Tash. My favorite is the third one, as you know, I love me a pair of Dushkus ;) She in her chocolate wrapper *pokes Simon*, and Nate in.. well, in my dreams... Update: He's right behind her in the second pic, she's wearing a summer dress while he's in a heavy jacket and the same stocking cap he wore when the were snowbaording in Park City. How cute... | Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Near brushes with celebrity Friday, February 08, 2008 BY VICKI HYMAN Newark NJ Star-Ledger Staff THE BEAUTY of New York Fashion Week is that it allows the press to get up close and personal with top-flight celebs -- there's no velvet rope and often no publicists or entourage in tow. That's also the beast of it -- when camera-worthy stars step into the tents, they're immediately overrun by overzealous (although, in our case, only appropriately zealous) reporters, and it's chaos. … At a couple of shows, the security guards took the extra precaution of positioning an extendible barrier in front of the celebrity cavalcade -- you could look at but you couldn't touch Anne Hathaway, Chloe Sevigny and Ashley Olsen at Miss Sixty, or the bevy of interchangeable blondes at MaxAzria. The barrier "keeps a little bit of manageability, a little bit of breathing space," says Fern Mallis, senior vice president of Fashion Week producer IMG Fashion. The crush wasn't enough to scare off Eliza Dushku, who used to battle much worse on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer. "I'm a Bostonian," says Dushku, looking ever-so-proper in a shell pink shirtdress with matching pumps and purse at Ports 1961. "I can push back." | Thanks Asho, thanks Angeli! I got this funny update from Truefan (thank you Truefan for everything you post, I love you, you rock )Eliza Dushku officially learned the hard way the First Rule of Fashion Week: Don't arrive at the same time as J.Lo does. When we noticed Dushku and her brother Nate at Wednesday's Marchesa presentation, we scampered over to check out her dress and then completely forgot about her the second we noticed La Lopez and her svelte hand warmer, Marc Anthony, a mere two feet away. With apologies to our mothers, we have to confess that our first reaction was to mouth, "Holy ****, it's J.LO." As was everyone's, from what we could see. Probably even Dushku herself got butterflies. Fortunately for the forgotten former slayer, Dushku later got a taste of the Second Rule of Fashion Week: If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Harvey Weinstein dragged Dushku over for a photo-friendly introduction to La Lopez and then told Eliza to keep on following him around the party. Could she be his new — and substantially less snotty — Gwyneth? Last edited by Sonya : 02-10-2008 at 05:09 PM. |

I don't understand why following Harvey Weinstein around would make her the next Gwyneth Paltrow. If it is that Gwyneth. Is this a movie thing or a fashion thing? I just don't know. |

| Eliza's SO ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would say it is just a bitchy comment about her, trying to say that she was shunned by papp when J Lo got there and Harvey saved her like she was some damsel in distress. I highly doubt Eliza even gave a crap that J Lo got there at the same time as her |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Not around here, she isn't! I fail to see what the big deal is with JLo...she's about 5 years of the past. She's had less and less decent roles, and is not someone I'd go out of my way to see. Eliza, on the other hand is intelligent and has made some good career moves recently. Between "Dollhouse" and the number of films to be released, I believe this will be the year the media will finally take more notice of Eliza. Someday, it might even be "JLo who?" |
