And you're right andrew, we do need more ideas. I read some fanfiction somewhere that Echo turns out to be Faith! But I guess, as cool as this might sound with Echo remembering a very dark past, the show would lose its authenticity and turn into a Faith spin off!
Anyway, I am sure the pilot will be dark, mysterious, sexy and funny. We will get to know the characters and their personality variations. We will see how versatile Echo is, and I'm almost positive we'll see more than one identity given to her, in each episode, but especially the pilot as to set the whole idea of the show.
Of course there will be special attention on the lab "dollhouse" and its history, techniques, functions and goals.

Although, as I was thinking about it last night, I was wondering why Echo's character happens to be the only one who stops "forgetting"! What is it that makes her different from all the other dolls?!

I sure do hope that they will include bloopers after every episode. Those are always fun to watch!

Yeah I think you're right there about the fan fic Sonya. That wouldn't be great, and Joss is nowhere near that dumb to do that. Eliza fighting would be great, but not having Slayer strength would be a bonus. As for the memories think, maybe she eventually 'resists' the wiping process that's used on the Dolls after each mission. Just a thought.

If you look in that thread you can see that there was a fanbook and a fan cd, many people were involved and cheebs was involved in the second one as I remember.

We all had roles, whether it was just putting in a submission or actually collecting messages ect.

I wrote something that was probably very embarrassing and fanish for the first and a really embarrassing fordelia fic for the second haha, if we did another project I think I would like to do something more creative perhaps in the visual sense.
Basically as far as I remember it extended to other boards people were on so it wasn't just fanhost.

The people who actually put the info together, accepted all the submissions, got it on cd or in the book, printed stuff and had the guts to go give it to her, they did a fantastic job, really did lots of hard work to make it real nice. I have heard other celebrities talk about their fanbooks and how much they appreciated them. I think its a nice way to show people that you appreciate them or what they do in a less intrusive way than having people in your face because its there and you can choose to look at it in your own time.

Ok, light bulb!

I’ve been obsessing – as always – over this ‘not coming soon’ show and here’s what my humble brain came up with:
There are two main ideas for the whole show:

Memory.
Individuality.

And I am so eager to find out how a genius like Joss is going to play around these two notions.
1. Memory: Is the more obvious theme for the show, and what intrigues me is how are the ‘dolls’ memories wiped out and replaced with whole new ones? What process is used? Could it be a genetic/DNA manipulation? Brain chemicals manipulation? Psychological brainwashing sessions?
The other thing that I find strange and interesting is what triggers Echo’s memory? Dreams? Private messages that she writes and hides (like a journal)? A tattoo? A scar? Mysterious skills that she didn’t know she had?
Also as she regains bits of memories on an irregular basis, it would be very suspenseful if she remembers not only stories from her past and her authentic self but bits of her fake identities as well, causing her a lot of delusion and confusion as she tries to solve the puzzle!
And what is it that makes all the dolls go back to dollhouse after their mission is over?! No ideas yet L

2. Individuality/ Authentic Self: the more hidden notion was actually brought up to the surface by the lovely Miss Dushku herself: “It is the story of who I am, in this business especially, like the objectification of people, and who people want to make other people into, and people clicking a button and thinking they can make something happen.
We have so much control in this day and age with the Internet and television and what we want and our desires and fantasies and thinking we can make them come true. And all of this, I think, just makes this such a smart concept, because it's all infiltrated in there, and it's part me and it's part the world. It's part people's fantasies, people's demons, their high times, their low times, their hilarious times and in between”.
"As actors, we're expected to play characters, and in a way it feels like people are trying to download the latest trend into a Hollywood actress and make them like everyone else," she said.

Neat suggestions! Though I'm unfamiliar with most, I like Claire being included. As I thought those two had some great scenes in BIO. Sadly not enough, as there was som b!tchyness between them. Also another link there's Judd Nelson, who was in JaSBSB. As for the geeky guy, how about Kevin Smith? Though he'd have to tone down the language!

40 something, any ethnicity, beautiful, sophisticated, cold as an alp. Runs the Dollhouse with an efficiency that is both ruthless and protective. Would die before she showed anyone how lonely she is. Series Regular;

Paul Smith
30s, any ethnicity, good-looks hardened by a cynical distaste for most of humanity. An FBI field agent, he’s been chasing the urban myth of the “Dollhouse” long enough to have lost any shot at promotion. Becomes obsessed with, and twisted romantic foil for, Echo. Series Regular;
Boyd Langton
Late 40s-60, any ethnicity, gruff, about to make the descent from ‘good-looking’ to ‘fatherly’. An ex-cop, Boyd is Echo’s ‘handler’ - her guard/bodyguard. Hates himself for taking this job, bu he’d lay down his life to protect the people he feels he’s exploiting. Series Regular;
Topher Brink
20’s, any ethnicity, genius programmer who’s articulate, nerdily attractive and blithely amoral. He’s responsible for imprinting the dolls - and making sure they stay unaware of anything. Is fascinated by the science and kind of digging the illegality. Fun to be around, but might not be remotely trustworthy. Series Regular;
Sierra
20’s, Asian or any ethnicity - certainly not Caucasian. Strikingly beautiful. A Doll like Echo, she has every personality in the world but her own. Is not as self-aware as Echo, but is instinctively drawn to her as a friend. Series Regular;
Victor
20’s, any ethnicity, handsome and fit. A Doll, and the other closest thing to a friend Echo has. Childlike when he’s inactive, and everything from Errol Flynn to (young) DeNiro when he’s active. Series Regular;
