| Eliza's SO ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I dont know if it was just me or not but it was like at the part where she is trying to say goodbye to them that she is trying to do it without being watched almost...I know in the pics she smiled for a few of them but then when it came time to say goodbye and leave she kinda became shy |

I suppose we're all to blame, really. We all enjoy seeing pics of our favorites, perhaps because we care about them. I've given up on any kind of tabloids, all they are are lies. The paparazzi would be much better off by respecting the celebrity's space a bit. Having said that, I agree that Eliza handles them well, simply by going about her life and business as if they were not there, yet remaining pleasant to them. I'm sure she realizes that it's a part of the business she's in and it helps keep her in the public eye.

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() | The press would annoy the crapola outta me. I have stuff all over the net and give away lots of personal details, even having a domain that isn't masked to another company name means people who don't know you can get all your personal contact details but being hounded by the press at your house and outside everywhere you go, that would be annoying. It's not so much the photos as the lack of personal space, the verbal interactions and just the general annoyance. And I can imagine if you went from very little fame to having a lot it would be doubly annoying if you had not envisaged all the downsides to being well known. |

Plus with the paps buzzing around, say if they swore or made some kind of gesture, it'll be all over the papers. It must be the really bad thing about being famous forwhat ever you do (well those who act, direct etc I mean). As for pics of those who I like, I'm interested in them, but I rarely go out of my way and download them all. Maybe sometimes if they've got a different look, but not if they're shopping at a store. The paps should lay off chasing famous people. We know what can happen if it does get out of hand. We only have to look at what happened 10 years ago to Princess Diana. |

| Eliza's SO ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I dont think a multi million dollar paycheck is reason to have your most personal moments splashed all over the world. I will look at pics if they are on here cause I am an Eliza whore and I love seeing what she is up to. I know a lot of people are intruiged by the celebrity world and who wouldnt want to be part of the glitz and glamour that seems to go with it but that is all we seem to see is this glorified lifestyle and we kinda forget that these people are human beings. (When I say we I dont mean any of us on here...kinda society) I think while people out there do get caught up in the hype of buying the mags, looking at the websites or watching all those stupid tv shows I think that the press and the media have a lot to answer for. They ultimately cant control what a single individual does to themselves but living under a microscope regardless of your job or the money cant be easy. I mean you wear a blue pair of shoes with a red top and all of a sudden you are the laughing stock of hollywood. God forbid you look maybe 2 pounds heavier than when you were last on TV because people will have a go at you...even your own fans and then when you lose the weight they say you are too skinny. So no matter what you do it never feels like the right thing. That no matter what you do there seems to be a line of people who dont even know you waiting to pass judgement on you. I think it is bull sh*t when a star cant say something about some guy sticking a camera in his face when he is trying to walk out of a restaurant or maybe get his kids in to a car. Or to be walking down the street and having total strangers think it is okay to ask you personal questions. You say something and you are labled difficult. These people camp out the front of their houses or wait for them to go shopping now any normal person that did this would be going to court and being called a stalker but why arent these people? What they are doing is just as dangerous and just as confronting and it mucks around with peoples lives. Rant...DONE Last edited by Tash the Vampire Slayer : 12-20-2007 at 05:53 PM. |

| Personally I don't want Eliza to be bothered by the papps, but at least they don't follow her around everywhere as much as other celebs. At least not yet anyway. She still enjoys a fair amount of privacy compared to others out there. That's why I really enjoy seeing her in candid pics or vids. I get a high from knowing her personally and seeing her in interviews even more than watching her movies or shows. Not because I'm a stalker or anything like that, it's just fun to get to see the real person behind the lovely image and all those characters she's so beautifully played. Her sweet, down-to-earth and spontaneous nature makes her all the more charming. God I love her ![]() |

I think if any of us were there when someone was hassling her, we'd be either be in their face telling them to back off or alerting security. I've photographed celebrities before, but never acted rowdy, though I have seen some who have. Press photographers years ago exhibited their professionalism by respecting their subjects. Papparazzi with few exceptions are generally jerks.

| Eliza's SO ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | From what I have seen of the papp. They think they have the right to be doing what they are doing and that there is nothing wrong with what they are doing. I have heard of a case where one celeb asked them to move so they could keep walking and the papp said if they didnt get these shots they couldnt send their kid to school. Is it not bad enough that they are invading a private moment or even impeding them from walking that they have to guilt them. If I was the celeb and that was said to me I would tell them that if they wanted to support their kid then they should get a proper job...a respectable job |

| Member ![]() | I just had to add my two cents to all of your very well-put comments on this subject. I think Eliza handles the media and the papparazzi extremely well. She's obviously not into using the media to splash herself all over the tabloids, like certain other young actresses - lol, wait, need to change that - actress "wanna be's". There have GOT to be moments, like her shopping with her boyfriend, where she would prefer to not be bothered, but she still never acts out or projects herself as anything but a sweet, easy-going young woman. She's obviously in her industry to be an actual "actress", again, ulike so many other wanna-be's. This coming year, 2008 - when all her new movies start being released, a lot of people are going to see what WE already know - that's she's very talented! ![]() And HOT!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Mostlycoming out against the paps. But that's understandable. The thing is, it's a double edged sword fame and the paps. As if you're famous, having paps comes with the territory. Sometime they can be nice, other times they can be not so nice. Sad to say that there's no real control over when paps can and cannot take pics of people like Eliza. I think then that could bring a person, say Eliza, into controlling their image and may distance themselves from their fans. So you can't bee too relaxed about the paps taking peoples pics, but at the same time you can't have it being too controlled due to the way of the world. Though I still feel that if a person's coming out of a restaruarnt, then they shouldn't have 5-10 paps taking 100s of pics of them. At a film prem, yes, as that's a public occasion. Not when they're walking through a supermarket. Oh I haven't used the word celebrity in this post, as I feel that's a word to describe someone who is famous (and usually talentless) for being famous. As Eliza isn't this, then I don't describe her as a celeb. |

| Eliza's SO ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Andrew I agree with you. There is always going to be some degree of them taking the photos. I love how Eliza handles it too. I think if Dollhouse becomes the hit we are all anticipating then we will probably see a lot more of her and then we will see how she really handles it. What I dont like is these 'wanna be's' as someone called them before. They ***** and moan about how they get no privacy but when the cameras come out they love it. I am sure if Paris Hilton went out shopping and nobody gave a crap she wasnt followed then she would be on her phone to her publicist quicker than it takes her to drop her panties to ask what was up. Same with Britney and Lindsay. I hate how people say well it comes with the job. Well to me the job for an actor is on set and on the red carpet and any promo they have related to the work they have just done. Them doing the shopping isnt part of the job. Them having lunch with friends isnt part of the job. Them having lies spread about them to sell magazines isnt part of the job. Half the mags out there shouldnt be running because basically all of what they print are lies. Nicole Kidman has always said that Womans Day here in Australia is terrible for it. She doesnt think she has ever read anything in there about her that was true apart from her name. If the actors and actresses out there took them to court for every thing they wrote then we wouldnt have these magazines because they would be being sued and wouldnt have time to print anything. Scandal sells and I dont know why. I am tired of going out and all anyone is talking about is b/s that they read in some magazine. I go out to hang out with my friends I dont wanna talk about celebs (Unless it is Eliza then I will talk all night) I just sometimes dont understand the mantality that surrounds what the pap can and cant do because to me they are just stalkers who get paid for it. |
