Thanks for that Sonya. But if you hadn't mentioned it was Joss saying that, I think it's fair we'd have all guess it was him anyway. Thanks again.

Yeah it is wicked awsome that Joss believes in her all this much and has always been very open about it, isn't it?

Joss has always been open about singing praises of his TV women. He's always written strong women roles in all of his series: Buffy, Faith, Willow, Fred, and River to name a few. But I remember a quote about Joss which wast 'he gets women'. And that's why he's been so successful with these characters. I'm hoping that Dollhouse can carry on that success.

Wow seems that the writers strike really has canceled the Golden Globes with the Oscars looking shaky next. I think its fantastic that so many actors are supporting this.

I found a video of the ME day and it shows glimpses of Eliza at 00:24 and 01:34, very cute:

Unfortunately couldn't find her interview on video but here's what she said according to IF magazine:
"ELIZA DUSHKU (Faith in BUFFY/ANGEL, star/producer of Whedon’s upcoming Fox series DOLLHOUSE): I think it’s an awesome show of support and I think that it speaks to Joss and to his fans and to fans of the work and the things that we are entertained by on television and in film that won’t be there if we don’t have our writers – it just would not exist, so we need to be here and remind people of that and stand strong, and everyone uniting is a really impressive thing."

Default WGA strike may be over soon...

http://unitedhollywood.blogspot.com/

According to United Hollywood, the WGA strike may be close to being over. The contract offer is out for ratification by the membership:

Quote:
This was sent by WGA West President Patric Verrone to membership on 02-10-2008:

Dear Fellow Members,

I am are pleased to inform you that this morning the WGA Negotiating Committee unanimously and unconditionally recommended the terms of the proposed 2008 MBA to the WGAW Board and WGAE Council. The Board and Council then voted unanimously to recommend the contract, and to submit it to the joint membership of WGAW and WGAE for ratification. The ratification vote will take place over the next few weeks by mail ballot and at a special membership meeting. You will receive ballot materials and a notice of informational meetings during the next week.

There is, however, another issue to address: whether to lift the restraining order, and end the strike, during the ratification process. We are asking the members to decide this issue. A vote will take place on Tuesday, February 12, 2008.

A yes vote means you are voting to end the strike immediately; a no vote means you are voting to continue the strike during the ratification process.

Ballots can be cast at the Guild Theater from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. If you aren’t able to cast a ballot in person, proxy ballots can be downloaded at http://www.wga.org/contract_07/proxy-2008.pdf and faxed. Proxy ballots and voting instructions are at wga.org. Until the votes are counted, we are still on strike. We will announce the vote count on Tuesday night.

There will be no picketing Monday or Tuesday: all pickets are suspended until the WGA membership votes to either end or continue the strike.

Thank you for your solidarity and support. We are all in this together.

Best,

Patric M. Verrone
President, WGAW
This was a long, tough haul for these people. I went through a strike in my industry that lasted 2 1/2 months, and I know how tight the money can get. I offer them congratulations on winning an important labor battle. Solidarity forever!
