Eliza Dushku has been tapped to star in Fox's one-hour pilot "Nurses," Nikki Cox is set to star in CBS' comedy pilot "Fugly," and Amber Valletta will star in CBS' drama pilot "Twilight."
Nurses," from 20th TV, is a comedic drama about the lives and loves of a team of nurses. Dushku will play the lead, a young woman just out of nursing school who joins the hospital run by her father. Dushku replaces Katheryn Winnick, who originally was cast in the role; the part was recast after the character was taken in a different, more comedic direction. Also cast in the pilot is Jaclyn DeSantis (Paradigm), who will play an experienced nurse going through a bitter divorce.

The project reunites Dushku with Fox and 20th TV following her starring role on "Tru Calling." The "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alumna will next be seen in the feature "Nobel Son."

Oh no I'm so confused! YEAY to being in a tv show, NO to it being on Fox again!

And the lead? I thought would just be a guest role. Wow such unexpected news. It sounds promising so I am pleased for her, and Eve is a good name I reckon, but I still harbour this subconscious reaction that if she would be in any tv show then it should be Faith. Lol - just can't help thinking it whether I think its a good move or not.

Anyways, overall, Yeay! Fingers crossed it's really good and gets picked up. Thanks for the news!

I'm going to reserve judgement on this until I see it. Sounds like a Scrubs / Grey's Anatomy wannabe to me... oh for some originality.

When the pilot was announced they were talking about a June airdate. Not sure if that's changed with recasting... if not role on June.

Lmao! I thought it was just me that got annoyed by Meredith! I love Grey's so a wannabe of that with Eliza as lead might be even better lol!

It seems the kind of role people likes, so maybe a little bit more of notoriety for our girl
