So if the directors doing the pilot, it sould be interesting. I also noticed ''from the set'' too. I guess it's well under way by now. Fingers crossed that it's a good show. |

Someone on IMDb just posted this. Nurses (working title) CAST (from left to right) Eliza Dushku as Eve Morrow Gregory Harrison as Dr. Richard Morrow Sara Rue as Chris Korenek Ramon Rodriguez as Patrick De Leon Jaclyn DeSantis as Joanne "Jo" Mazur Melinda Page Hamilton as Margo MacDonald Brett Dalton as Dr. Kurt Taylor Drew Sidora as Becca Dimato From executive producers Barry Josephson ("Bones") and Shed Productions (UK hits "Footballers' Wives," "Bad Girls"), director PJ Hogan ("My Best Friend's Wedding") and writers Samantha Goodman and Andrew Stern ("Return to Me"), NURSES is a hospital show that puts the focus where it truly belongs: on the women and men who spend their days at the beck and call of the doctors, proving once and for all who's truly in charge. And while the nurses of Philadelphia General Hospital work hard, they play hard, too sometimes before their shifts have even ended. Trying to put a checkered past behind her, newbie nurse EVE MORROW (Eliza Dushku, "Tru Calling") returns to, of all places, the hospital where her brilliant and intimidating father Dr. RICHARD MORROW (Gregory Harrison, "Ed," "Falcon Crest") calls the shots as Chief and her smug stepbrother Dr. KURT TAYLOR (Brett Dalton) is a rising star on the staff. Eve joins the nursing team on the fast-paced Med/Surg Unit and immediately finds herself in hot water when she enlists the help of the beautiful BECCA DIMATO (Drew Sidora, "Girlfriends," "White Chicks") who has a penchant for one-night stands and pilfered pharmaceuticals in a quest to help a patient by proving that Dr. Taylor, Becca's latest conquest, has made an incorrect diagnosis. The acerbic JOANNE "JO" MAZUR (Jaclyn DeSantis, "Windfall," "Luis") is a single mom who's enjoying a workplace romance with sexy male nurse PATRICK De LEON (Ramon Rodriguez, "Day Break," "The Wire"), as her envious co-workers wonder aloud what she has that they don't. CHRIS KORENEK (Sara Rue, "Less Than Perfect") is dangerously bored with her marriage to her high school sweetheart and secretly wonders if she has what it takes to be a surgeon. And while tightly-wound charge nurse MARGO MacDONALD (Melinda Page Hamilton, "Desperate Housewives") must play mother hen to them all, she quietly longs to be one of the girls. Few would have the wherewithal to survive all this, but it's just another 12-hour shift for the NURSES http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0244630/b...19035#70019035 I agree with the poster that it sounds like Fox are trying to make Grey's Anatomy jr. And the script page sound similar too. But because of that it has a good chance of being picked up if the pilot is good and given a decent slot for a few weeks and it sounds interesting. Right after Bones or before "House" would be good. | |

| Thanks for the welcome guys, I appriciate it. It synopsis does make it sound quite like Grey's except with nurses and its probably supposed to, because it's so popular right now and of course other networks want to cash in on it. And FOX is probably also interested in continuing the sucess of their medical type shows like "House" and Bones" with what sounds like a lighter dramedy than either of those. There will be a lot of competition, if it even gets picked up because Grey's has its spin off and there are several other new doctor/medical shows potentially debuting. I know its on Fox but because its more mainstream than anything she's done before, if it works out she'll have a lot more recognition than before. |

| Very true. But they do need some new dramas this year, all their pilots from last year were flops, and ones like Prison Break and 24 will only go on for a couple more years at most. They have been patient with a couple of series like "Bones" which only get average to solid ratings. Why I have a little more faith this time around: 1. She has lots of projects coming out this year which could well/have lead to other good possibly films/TV projects. It doesn't seem to be a desperation move. 2. So Eliza must have thought it was worth the risk of going back to Fox after getting royally screwed last time and signing on for what is potentially a multi year role over others she probably gets. 3. Which leads me to believe she thinks the script is great and there's a good chance of sucess, especially with a good director like PJ Hogan. 4. She's looking for more widesread recognition, can't get more basic potential fanbase than a medical show. 4. Well I live in [foolish] hope... ![]() It's also interesting that they cast her specifically because the character became more comedic, as that's not what she's known for, even in BIO she was more sarcastic, which will be great in showcasing more of her talent. So hopefully she gave an amazing audition which will show through to execs, I hope even if its not picked up it still gets leaked onto the net. Last edited by DustyRose : 03-26-2007 at 05:18 PM.
