I've been following the discussion of the film and I've come to the conclusion that any Eliza cinema, no matter how short the film or what the subject matter is helping to keep her in the public eye. And more importantly, these small independent films are often watched by studio casting directors, and could lead to even greater roles.

I think we all get a little freaked out by the length of time it takes from when we first hear of a new project to when it finally becomes reality. That's just the process, and if it's done right, it might produce a film or project well worth waiting for. Patience on our part is the key...and talk it up among others who aren't Eliza fans, it can't hurt!

I agree Tru Faith and every role will help her grow as an actress.

I dont think its good that she do certain movies just to be known or to be noticed. That's why I do'nt like people like Eva Langoria. It seems to me that she's all hype. I cant say anything about her work and still she's in every magazine for some reason. I think that in a while we wont even remember who she is cuz the hype will be over.

I would like Eliza to sort of become an actress that is repected like a Christina Ricci or Maggie Gyllenhaal . They are both wellknown and they are still around not because they are on every magazine cover but because of the movies and the reputation that they got from that. And I think that's what will help her career the most in the end.

I'm not sure to be honest. I think as fans we are allowed to not always be overly impressed by what we see. I think the general concensus on Soul Survivors was that it wasn't good, although I did think Eliza shone.

And being involved with a bad project could of course harm Eliza's career.

However, all that said, none of us have actually seen the full short yet, just the trailer, so I guess the jury is still out for me at least.

Thanks for that.

I love 'Jesus Walks'

I thought the voice over guys voice was crap and the whole second I saw Eliza it was worth it!

Now, here's the thing: Eliza's current projects are so incredibly small (and this one is smaller than the rest, both litterally and figuratively) that I doubt any of them will have any impact on her career. It's not like Roger Ebert will give The Last Supper a thumb down because he won't review it at all.

Right now, Eliza needs a movie that would bring her back to the mainstream again. Any project in between doesn't really count.

okay, i have a completely unrelated question, but I figured since you people were alll eliza experts this was the best place to ask. I've heard a rumor that there was going to be a third season of Tru Calling, and I was wondering if there was any truth to it?

Welcome to the board and no, there isn't any truth to it.

To support what Arrow said, the tv station that showed Tru cancelled it after 6 episodes into the second season.

Here's all I'm gonna say...

If Eliza is happy with her choices in projects then so am I, and I'll try to support them the best way that I can for her.

Great point about Christina. She picks roles because she believes they're a great role for her. Something in the character or who it's with. I think Eliza can go down this route as well. Saying that it looks like Eliza's doing that. Look at The New Guy and City by the Sea. One was to pay the bills, but the other was a great and different role for here. And she worked with De Niro again.

The Last Supper will be premiering in LA on 16 Nov. I don't have any more info at this stage but watch this space!
