Macaulay Culkin will star in Sex and Breakfast, a dark comedy written and directed by Miles Brandman, reports Variety. Steven Brandman, Chip Diggins and Andy Adelson are producing the film, which just started shooting.

Alexis Dziena, Kuno Becker and Eliza Dushku also star in the story of a couple with problems in the bedroom who seek solace from a therapist. The shrink espouses group sex as a cure-all.

"I read a lot of material and loved this script," Culkin said. "It's really about the pressure that leads them to experiment, the anticipation leading up to the event and then the fallout."

Macaulay Culkin and Eliza Dushku have signed on for leads in the dark comedy "Sex and Breakfast."

Alexis Dziena ("Invasion") and Kuno Becker ("Goal!") co-star in the film, now shooting.

Written and directed by Miles Brandman, the project apparently focuses on a couple who go to a relationship therapist with intimacy problems. The recommendation? Group sex.

"I read a lot of material and loved this script," Culkin tells Variety. "It's really about the pressure that leads them to experiment, the anticipation leading up to the event and then the fallout."

Although he's been known to do voices for "Robot Chicken," Culkin has mostly been absent from both the big and small screen since "Saved!" and "Party Monster." It was nearly 15 years ago that he was the richest child star in the land, with lead roles in films like "The Nutcracker," "Getting Even with Dad" and "The Pagemaster."

Best known for her performance as rogue slayer Faith in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," Dushku most recently starred in the FOX series "Tru Calling." Other credits for the 25-year-old actress include "Bring It On" and "Wrong Turn."

I saw this just about 10 minutes ago. The headline being that 'Culkin has sex with Eliza' I thought Dear God no!! But it was just for a film. Phew! Thanks for putting up the info, I hope we get to see this one as well. That's another one for the Eliza list for me.

I just got this in my google alert as well! This movie sounds so good! And god, I love Alexis Dziena as well. She sort of looks like a cross between Eliza and Summer Glau (from Firefly) with some Mila Kunis thrown in. She's hot. I think this is going to be my new favorite project of Eliza's.

I'm not that surprised. This is more along the lines of the work Eliza used to do before she tried being a "good girl". Of course, it's much more serious and sounds like it has a lot more quality, but a movie about sex really isn't all that shocking for Eliza unless you're completely fooled by her little image makeover that's occurred over the last few years. I think this will be a project well suited for Eliza and should give her a chance to really act. Eliza + dark comedy + sex = awesome.

And I continue to notice that she ends up with the weirdest love interests in movies EVER. I'm kind of finding it hard to picture her with skinny little blonde Mac. She's going to break him! haha.

i dont like Macaulay Culkin. there is something creepy to about him .He used to be so cute in Home Alone and My Girl.
i guess thats what hangin with Michael Jackson doesto you :P

But about the film well we're gonna have to wait and see. aslong as its a tastefull one i'm all for it i guess. But i dont expect to see eliza naked cuz im sure she wont do that (in case she does, i never said that :p )
since its a comedy im very curious how it will end up.

I would have liked another lead actor though.like jake gyllenhaal(sp?) or the guy from the notebook ( ryan gossling?).

Did i already say i think M C is creepy?

You can film a movie with sex scenes without actually showing nudity. I've seen plenty of movies with sex scenes where you don't actually see anything and the scenes were still pretty hot. I used to be a huge Neve Campbell fan and she had a no nudity clause in Wild Things and still engaged in a threesome scene. So, it can be done.

Yeah, SMG has done a few sex scenes without any nudity.

Thanks Aph, I now have an image of Eliza and Alexis Dziena (who does do nudity) reinacting that Wild Things scene stuck in my head

I think I'd rather leave Matt Dillon in the scene though - I agree with LadyDay, Culkin gives me the creeps

Hmm, anyone think Eliza and Culkin might have been cast in this because the producers were looking for a lack of chemistry between the two leads

You're welcome, Ben! Images of Eliza and Alexis together have been floating in my head ever since I saw the words Eliza, Alexis, and group sex. Also, not hard to picture Eliza and Matt together after those LA Confidential pictures.

That's an interesting point about the lack of chemistry. That very well could be it. I mean, if they're having issues, they obviously shouldn't be lighting up the screen with sexual fireworks. Eliza and Alexis can light up the screen instead ;). The other dude cast in this movie isn't half bad, either. I just looked up some pictures of him since I had no idea who it was.
