Yeah, I pretty much agree with everything Aph said too, thats not nudity in my book - though I was perhaps a little surprised at how much boobage she shows as the camera pans down
BOOBAGE? I've watched the clips about a zillion times now and I don't see that. Someone else mentioned to me seeing some sideboob too and I can't find it! My monitor must suck. Gah. And good to see you still around. I thought you had left the board completely.

Edit: NOW I see it in the dowloaded clip. It's much brighter than the one on the website where I could barely see anything, so thanks for that!

You wouldn't happen to have a name/link, would you?

I dont have a link, but he's posted on IMDB before as Uncfreight-1 or something similar. He works for Unclaimed Freight Productions though I'm not sure in what capacity. I'm pretty sure he's reliable though.

Aph - maybe my monitor was a little too bright I'll try and post some 'enhanced' caps later

KERI!!! I was hoping you'd stop in to see this trailer

It really was my monitor's fault. Eliza's skin tone looked RED and everything was shadowy when I watched the video on the website. Believe me, I paused it and stared and all I saw was black! And wow, just put my monitor brightness on 100 (it's usually on 60) and WOO! I don't even think she's wearing pasties, lol. It's a good day to be an Eliza fan.

And Ben? Caps would be muchly appreciated.

Him? I've read his posts before. I'm personally not too sure about that guy, some of his posts have given me some serious questions concerning his reliability. He seems to have contradicted himself.

From one of the threads on the Nobel Son board:

Quote:
saw it an early test screening... I think it's coming out next year, not sure when.
So, there he's seen the movie, right? Well, three of his posts later...

Quote:
Check out the website for the film at www.nobelson.com Eliza is awesome!!! Can't wait to see this one...
It certainly sounds like he doesn't seem to have seen it anymore and hence can't wait to. That right there just doesn't sit right with me. It sounds suspicious at best.

He does seem fairly knowledgeable about Unclaimed Freight's films though - He said that Eliza 'showed some skin' in Nobel Son a couple of months ago and has also posted a fair bit about Marilyn Hotchkiss.

You could be right but I just had a feeling hes a member of the production staff or part of some kind of street team trying to create a buzz about the film.

It sounds to me like he's trying to create buzz for the film. Being all CHECK THIS OUT! CAN'T WAIT FOR IT TO COME OUT! Look how hot almost naked Eliza is! I've been reading the imdb boards and thought it was a pretty lame stunt to suddenly jump threads and post that everywhere acting all excited to make everyone else excited. I'm quite sure he did see the film though, since he was going on about Eliza showing skin waaaay before these clips came out.

And thanks for the caps Ben! They're very much appreciated. Now excuse me while I get my perv on!

Edit: LOL! I love when posts happen 2 minutes apart and I say almost the same thing that the person who posted a second before me said.

Yeah, but he also said it was enough to merit an R-rating, and I'm just not getting that from the clips. Maybe there's more in the movie, but I have my doubts about it.

He's been vague, but still a mouthpiece. The two don't generally mix. Has me thinking he's probably not directly involved with the film, and hasn't seen it, but may be acquainted/associated with those who have. That would give him the type and quality of information he's provided but a limited source of information which would explain the vagueness in his posts, and why his details seem to lack any kind of concrete nature. Those possible limits have me questioning his accuracy.

It also explains his incredible enthusiasm for this film. If he was in the industry for a long enough stretch to get to the point where he's seeing advanced screenings of films I have to question whether he'd still be starry eyed to the point where he's making "fanboy" posts all over the Internet. I imagine he'd be more blase due to frequent exposure to such things.

Street team is a definite possibility. It would actually explain a lot, his seemingly limited knowledge and his odd zeal for the film in question. So might simply being a fan of one or more of the people involved and having a friend or family member associated with the production.

I wouldn't discount his word out of hand, but I wouldn't lend it any real degree of authority either, not without something more substantial on his part.

Then again, I'm a bit of a cynic. I always like to count my chickens as opposed to eggs... less prone to be disappointed that way. *shrug*

I think we need to all step back and breathe, here. Whether or not he's an insider or not will prove itself over time, I think.

Irregardless...a big and from me on the vids and caps! "Wow!" and "(gulp)" just seem SO inadequate! If that IS Eliza and not a body double, I am deeply and

By the way, whoever's doing the Eliza Info site...my thanks, I am really happy to find versions of those videos to download...YouTube is great, but unless someone knows a way I don't, you really can't download them, just view them on YouTube's site, correct???

I finally just watched the trailer. I have to say, this looks promising! Not anything that will set the box office on fire or that will win many awards but Alan Rickman's performance looks enjoyable and Eliza seems back to her bad girl root.

She's better playing bad girls than good girls. Way better.

No need to step back for a breather, I believe everyone here is perfectly calm (minus a few with some Eliza-related hyperventilation problems perhaps).

Actually what you seem to saying is precisely what I'm saying; wait and see.

I'm not discounting what he says, in fact in this instance I'm prone to believe what he says is true, though not simply because he attests to it, but because of my evaluation of what I've seen. I'm by no means discrediting him, simply pointing out that, for me anyway, he certainly hasn't proven himself either. Personally I'd prefer if he did... it's never a bad thing to have someone on the "inside" so to speak.

There are a few methods and programs to download off of youtube. Probably the easiest are browser extensions for FireFox... you are running FireFox, aren't you? If you aren't I can't recommend it enough (as well as the AdBlock and Linkification extensions... they're simply immensely useful in my opinion).

Ah, it's all preference. I'd personally rather see her playing the good girl... especially since that generally means more smiling, and thus more frequent displays of dimple-age... that's by no means a bad thing.

Yes, Eliza's carved out quite a niche. I've always thought it takes a lot more talent to play bad girls and villains, and she's got the chops for it.

As I recall, Alan Rickman ALSO excels playing villains and bad guys, but he does it with a touch of wry humor. But you haven't lived until you see him in "Michael Collins", playing Irish revolutionary Eamon de Valera - in women's clothes! - being spirited away from prison by Collins (Liam Neeson) - it's a hoot!

When I say "bad girl", I don't necessarily mean a villain, I mean the attitude, like Bring It On or early/late Faith. It might just be a coincidence but everytime she's played a bad girl, her characters always seemed to have more layers and more complexities, and when she played a "good girl" her characters often felt flavorless, like she had no fun playing them. When she plays a character with little inhibitions, her natural charisma seems to be taking over.

And only saw Rickman playing bad guys. It's that voice. It's one of the great voices among actors.

I COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE! Eliza is simply not that good at playing bland, good girl characters. She always looks so bored doing that and as a result, I get bored. Sorry TC fans, but Eliza's acting in that show was a yawnfest. But watch her be a little bit bad, and it's always WAY more interesting. I can't take my eyes off bad girl Eliza. Although, when she does play more "good girl" characters, she's definitely good at comedy like in The Kiss and The New Guy. It's just the dramatic good girls that I think hinder her because of the lack of charisma. Eliza definitely shines the most as those vulnerable bad girl characters.

You see, a lot of it is just personal preference. Personally I feel she gets more into the good girl characters like Tru. I found her portrayal of that character anything but a "yawnfest". Even in the first episode I thought she brought a lot more life and nuance to the character than she had with many previous characters.

The writing for some of her "bad girl" parts was better in my opinion, but that's the writing, not what she as an actor did with it.

Personally I think maybe it's just that you crush on bad girls

You wouldn't be wrong about that, Happy. I do love the bad girls! So yeah, I am always going to prefer Eliza playing more edgy characters, unless we're talking about The Kiss and then I wouldn't mind if she always played happy go lucky comedic characters like that!

But the Tru thing has nothing to do with my love of bad girls vs. good girls. Even Eliza complained about Tru and how whiny she was and how the character wasn't what she had envisioned. So I don't think I'm wrong in thinking Eliza was kind of bored by the role and that it showed on screen. She was very one-note in that role, whereas when she plays bad girls, she has all these different levels. She looks like she's having fun and has so much charisma!

I'm an acting major so when I critique Eliza's acting, I think of what I've learned from my professors and think to myself, "Hmm, what would they say if they saw this performance?" I actually thought she started out good in Tru, but kind of... faded out the longer it went on. I loved the pilot and the beginning of the season, but grew bored midseason and the only thing that kept me watching was the oh-so-naughty Tru/Harrison subtext. She wasn't boring ALL THE TIME, just... as a whole, I wasn't impressed. I wasn't drawn to her like I had been in the past. She just didn't have that Eliza spark.

But that's all in opinion and taste, so if you felt like she was bringing a lot to the role, more power to you! It's good someone likes her as a good girl and that we can have a debate about her acting skills rather than her ass, haha. I just personally didn't see any of that energy that was so characteristic of Eliza herself and her previous roles. It's good to see Eliza playing a character that has that certain enigma and sexuality that I so love about Eliza. I'm so excited for Nobel Son!
