Nate on "Joan Of Arcadia"

I just watched an episode of "Joan of Arcadia", and Nate Dushku guest starred. He played a student who gets involved with Joan, and he ends up stealing her father's police badge. Not sure if we'll see him again on the show anytime soon. I thought he was great, seemed so natural. Just thought some people here may like to know. [img]smile.gif[/img]

It figures the first night I miss that show is the one I want to see the most!!! DAMN THE MAN!

Heh....I watched it and I didn't even realise it. I even said to myself, god I hate this dude, he's annoying me.

Yeah I really like the show too. I missed it tonight on CBS but it played at midnight on a Canadian channel so I got to see the episode.

As soon as I saw Nate Dushku's name appear at the bottom I started to watch out for him. And the character himself was supposed to be aggrivating in my opinion...I could tell he was going to end up doing something to Joan or her family. Nate played the character so well, and he looks so much like Eliza its scary. The character even said yo once or twice, reminded me of Faith in season seven.

Nate played a high school student? Hmm, isn't he a little old? It's cool to see him getting some acting roles.

I was flicking through the music channels the other day and I saw him in the Geri Halliwell video. I actually watched the video a couple of days after reading he was in it but never noticed him. Watched it this time, saw him once and then noticed him again and again afterwards, he's in the front behind Geri quite a lot of the time actually.

My brother actually came downstairs for a second, saw the scene with Nate, and asked if hes related to Eliza. (He knows I'm a fan). I think its their facial features...they're a lot alike.

Faith_Fan, how old is Nate exactly? Joan Girardi is 16 years old, so I don't think Nate's character was much older. Maybe 17.

Nate is 26.

It's okay older actors always play younger characters, just look at Buffy and 90210. The character who playes Joan(Amber Tamblyn) is 20..her character is 16(not a huge difference, I know). She was also in an episode of Buffy.

And on Buffy she played a junior high girl, that was only last year.

He really does look like Eliza IMO. Like not twin looks, but you can definately tell they're related.

Whens it going to be on next? I have only seen Nate tailing Eliza in a couple premieres. And since when does he act?

Nate may not look his age, but I don't think he can exactly pass for a teenager. I didn't see the episode, so maybe they can make him younger and he is a rather small guy.

Eliza's trying to break out of teen roles, but when producers constantly cast mid 20-somethings as teenagers, it makes it even more difficult for her.

Nate's like 3 1/2 years older than her and playing about 3-4 years younger than Tru. But that's the same as Fox is doing with shows like The OC and Skin where the lead actors are 23-25 and playing 16 year olds. Yet Eliza is supposed to be believable as a 22 year old college graduate when there's actors who look older than her playing high school students in other Fox shows.

Sorry for the rant. I'm happy to see Nate getting any role and hopefully this leads to more opportunities for him.

And damn, he is the male version of Eliza... how can anyone say they`re not alike!?

I keep forgetting that was her in "All the Way". Her performance was more memorable in "The Ring". ;) She is a great actress though...shes amazing in "Joan of Arcadia". I throw that adjective around a lot, but she really is great. The best new actress for this season in my opinion... (other than Eliza of course [img]tongue.gif[/img] ).

Yeah...I think the fact that hes kind of small had a lot to do with it. Hes not as tall as most people his age. It was believable that he was a high school student. There was a scene where he was outside the school listening to headphones and he really looked like a 17 year old.

The whole show tries to relate to teens anyway...they play the current pop hits in the backrounds sometimes, and a lot of the characters are stereotyped. You have the nerd, the rebel, the misunderstood teen. Nate's character was kind of the mysterious, older teen who a lot of the girls wonder about, and that the other guys are jealous of.
