| I haven't seen the entire season 1 worth of episodes but I know early on the series was in trouble. Apparently Jason Priestly was brought in to try and save or at least stir up interest in the series. With two different enemies now Tru has to look over her shoulder as she tries to help those she is called to. Do you think they will bring in a new friend that might help her occasionally? What do you think the next season will bring? Who would you want to see as a guest star? I think it would be funny if she had to help the guy that killed her mother? I would like to see a friend that can handle physical (read as violent)situations well. [ June 18, 2004, 01:30 AM: Message edited by: Winterwolf ] |

| Eliza's SO ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think if they utilise Eliza's brilliant talents they will do fine. One thing I have noted in seeing them is her struggle with the power. I dont want her to get all Buffy like with her gift. Just accept it and get on with it and also for her to stop being so flirty with the boys! get Sarah on the show and fufill our Fuffy fantasies! |

| I think S2 will be better. They know their characters by now so they can perfect them. The writing will probably be better(not that it was bad before) The only bad thing I can say is that it most likely won't get much more ratings... Plz finish the season tho... |

So I can't really say about Jason's character. Though guest stars are a double edged sword. On one hand you'll get ratings in due to the high profile star. But the down side is using a high profile actor make take away some of the reality to the show. I understand that it's a fantasy drama, but all the people I've seen Tru save so far are just ordinary looking people. It's just that it'll loose the element of ''Is Tru going to save them?'' if it's a well known star. I suppose a reoccuring role would be great, like a fellow med student who also works at the morgue (unless Jason works there) or as a journalist. |

| yeh the last episode i saw was reunion, and i liked it (especially the wet t shirt, those abs!!!! my god, infact it was so hott, i'll even post a pic or two!! ![]() ![]() Yep above is my reason for LOVING this show!!!!lol No seriously, i couldnt stand this show at first, i thought it was boring, and pretty much forced myself to watch it just because of eliza. I missed quite a few of episodes due to that, the only ones i'v seen are the pilot putting out fires (dont know what its called, but shes throwing a house party and her ex gets killed) murder in the morgue reunion and out of those five, i'v really likes the last two, and i'm actually really looking forward to the next episode. I'v also heard it gets alot better as the season goes on. One reason i'm now hooked, is because of the fact i really wanna find out what Davis wanted to say about his life being saved twice (Thats not an invitation for anybody to spoil me btw!!). So they'd got all these little things that make you wanna watch just to see what happens next. I really hope this does better than just two seasons, but i'm not gonna hold my breath, I mean look at shows like dark angel, excellent show, but only two seasons till it was cancelled! |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I kind of depends on a lot of factors that could change. If the OC stays on Thursdays, it could be good for TC (provide a good lead-in) or it could be TC's death sentence. If TC doesn't hold enough of The OC's lead-in, it will be canceled. And whether or not the OC moves all depends on how Fox's new shows do. So far, The Jury is tanking and everything else is doing fairly well. The repeat ratings are very, very low, so we have the "it doesn't repeat well" factor coming in that was the reason Angel was canceled. Mediaweek and Variety have been bashing Fox non-stop for renewing the show, and the low repeat ratings are providing more ammo against Fox. Fox has only ordered 13 episodes of Tru Calling, so production would end in December if they don't choose to pickup more episodes. As for the writing quality, who knows. It will probably be as terrible as it was last year. Fox has a gun to the heads of the producers and writers of TC to do whatever they want them to do. The show could be canceled at any minute. With Firefly and Wonderfalls, the writers fought against Fox constantly. The TC writers just gave into every whim of Fox to get rid of characters and change storylines. So it really doesn't matter what Jane Espensen or anyone else they bring in does, since Fox is the one making all of the decisions. Maybe if there's some improvement I might start watching again, but I really doubt it the writing will improve at all. [ June 18, 2004, 12:39 PM: Message edited by: Faith_Fan ] |

| Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't actually think they need another friend, in a lot of ways Harrison and Davis have been a lot closer to Tru throughout the series due to their knowledge of her calling, with Lindsey gone I think it would be better served to just give them even bigger roles in that area. As for Tru and her gift, I also think struggle is good. I'd like Tru to question everything about her gift, to the point where she wonders if she's doing the right thing or if Jack is. Of course, come back to the point that she is in the right but there's lots of mileage in the doubt, I want them to take advantage of that. Guest stars are good, though not to a point that they could ever overshadow the show. Most of all, I want them to get as much out the Tru/Jack dynamic as possible, I don't see Jack as a long term character, the character may have brought an arc with him but to me, he's short term, he's just an introduction to Tru's universe. In the mean time though, I hope they take advantage of the character and what Jason brings to the show... then they should discard him. :D [ June 18, 2004, 02:44 PM: Message edited by: Matt ] |

Anyways if the show becomes more about Jack than about Tru, the show would be playing with fire since that will displease the greater fanbase of the show. Eliza fans are the ones who lapped all the TC stuff up before the show ever aired. They can't afford to lose that. Those abs.. she doesn't go to the gym? I'd love to watch how she gets them.. | I don't see what could make the ratings go up a lot except for The O.C. But so what? I'm not going to let dreading the possible cancellation make me not enjoy the upcoming episodes. I enjoyed most of the parts of season one, especially the last few episodes. I think season two could be really amazing. I hope the new writers are great and that the ratings DO go up. All I know right now is that I'm anxious to see the new episodes. :D |

| Believe me, B_A, no one is more disappointed about them getting rid of AJ than me. It's really cool because I have close connections to her - I dunno if anyone believes that, but it is true. I was so happy when I learned she was gonna be cast in TC, it made the show all the more better for me. *SEASON FINALE SPOILER AHEAD* * * * Not to mention that Luc and Lindsay were my favorite characters - and now both are gone. Oh, well. I suppose it leaves room for more characters in season 2, but I just don't think the writer's know what to do with the supporting cast (Meredith, Gardez, Luc, Lindsay), so they just eliminate them. |

| Nice pictures. I haven't seen that episode yet. I think one thing that might kill this series is the lack of characters. The only really defined characters are Tru, Davis, Harrison, and Jack. Tru's sister is a waste of time. Tru's father is almost there as a major player. With AJ gone that removes Tru's best friend. I think she really needs another good friend to help her out female or male. You still have the man who killed Tru's mother and that reporter (Michelle?) hanging just on the edge and ready to pounce on Tru's first mistake. Her friends are few and her adversaries are becoming many. Something has to balance out soon. |
