blackcat is blonde Eliza would have to wear a blonde wig or dye her hair blonde for the role if it's true she could play blackcat she has the experience for the role i think.i'd watch the movie for Eliza she's a way better actress then kirsten dunst.

Spider-man 3 hasn't been written yet, let alone cast. There's been no word on which new characters will be in the film and based on some of the rumors, there's a strong possibility Blackcat won't be in the film. It's coming out in 2007 so there's absolutely no casting going on now except signing the actors from the 2nd film for the 3rd.

On the other superhero movie rumor, about a year ago and a half ago at the LA Comic Con, there was a fan asking the director of Daredevil about Black Widow being in the sequel and saying Eliza should play her.

Well, Lions Gate bought the rights to a Black Widow movie, so she probably won't be in the Daredevil sequel (if there is one). David Hayter (X-Men 2) is writing and directing the film. That would be a role Eliza should be considered for, but the rumor is Rebecca Romijn Stamos is the front runner.

Why can't Eliza be considered? Rebecca's already played a comic book character in Mystique (spell?), so why not offer it to Eliza? Or is it the old thing of getting a big star for the movie again so box office takings are guaranteed.

But it's a hard choice between the two. By appearing in Spider-man 3 she'd gain a higher profile, but she'd have less screen time compared to being the Black Cat. However it could hurt her career if the Black Cat film did badly. I'm only guessing, but I'd love to see Eliza get one of these roles. She deserves it.

Isnt Eliza known to be superb at playing those tough spunky chick heros and come of extremly sexy at the same time? How can these casting people pass her up??! I totally don't get it [img]graemlins/wacked.gif[/img]

I'm sure she's being considered. A lot of times when casting roles like this, the producers and director meet with over 100 actresses. I bet Eliza's gone in for most roles we think she should play. That's so frustrating for an actress to keep going in and getting rejected.

The problem is Eliza isn't well-known enough to play the lead in a movie with a sizable budget. If studios are going to invest over 50 million dollars into a movie, they want someone starring in the movie that everyone's heard of. It's not fair, but that's the way things go.

Sony didn't want to cast Tobey Maguire to play Spiderman. Director Sam Raimi had to fight to get them to cast him. Sony has a completely different marketing plan for marketing a movie without a well known lead (ie New Guy). They even put fake movie reviews in an ad for A Knight's Tale because Heath Ledger wasn't a-list enough for them and they wanted to promote that he was "the new big star". And to most movie marketing, it doesn't matter what tv show you're in. The Sony marketing guys had no idea Eliza was in Buffy. There was only one New Guy spot that featured Eliza. (There was 15 total). One night they were waiting around and a friend of mine had Buffy on (Seeing Red was on). Two New Guy spot aired during it. My friend asked why Sony didn't put on the Eliza spots and the marketing guys replied that they had no idea Eliza was in Buffy. They had no idea that anyone knew who she was. To them, she was someone no one ever heard of (since they hadn't). It might as well have been her first movie.

That's the problem with Eliza getting the lead in anything other than small budget film like Wrong Turn. She can't "open" a movie.

What she has to do is work her way up with supporting roles, which takes time.

I was confused when I heard Kirsten Dunst was cast to play Mary Jane because I figured she would've been better suited for Black Cat/Felicia Hardy. [img]graemlins/eek.gif[/img] It's funny, too, 'cause whenever I ask someone if they would've preferred Kirsten to play Felicia, they say, "Who's Felicia?" Everytime this happens to me, and the best part about it all is that some of them are supposed "big fans," and I myself am not a die-hard fanatic. Anyway, Eliza as Black Cat would kick major butt - imagine the fight scene's! - but I think that if she were to have blonde hair, it would be . . . weird. I suppose she could just keep her black hair, but I bet many fans would be disappointed.

True.. but with her recent commitments in Tru, I do wonder how much she intends to invest in film, whether she's still gonna go for it? She did express interest in reprising her role in True Lies 2.. though she hasnt been contacted yet and I think that would totally rock! Its a great way to build her career and have her be an important part of an a-list show.
But with Tru, and her talks about wanting to further her education, I wonder if we'll get to see our girl rocking the big screens anytime soon. [img]graemlins/ohwell.gif[/img]

That's certainly a problem. There's only a limited number of movies that film during the summer and all of the tv actors are competing for them. Eliza could try to film something while filming TC. SMG did film Scooby Doo and Aly filmed all of the American Pie movies while filming Buffy.

But it's difficult to star in a show and be in 90% of the scenes and try to film something else. Some movies film in Vancouver, but that makes things even more limited.

True Lies 2 isn't going to happen now that Schwartenegger is governor of California.

I think Eliza's best bet is doing a Buffy movie. Considering how most of the cast of Buffy has failed to move on to anything, I think it's likely, if they can get Sarah back.

a buffy movie would be fantastic. unless they decided to replace any of the characters...
i think it would do well. plus, if non-buffy fans saw the movie, it might encourage more viewing of the previous tv series seasons. leading to more crazy buffy fans.
eliza would be very smart to be in it.
