Dushku Adds Her Name To Wonder Woman List

I wouldn't mind if she did WW... It would be big exposure for her. A lot of people are saying "Catwoman" failed, so did "Elektra", but that has no affect on how WW will do, and if it is a good script and a good movie it could do good things for her career... A lot of superhero movies have been HUGE hits... We don't even know if she will have the old WW costume, I am sure they will update it, because it would be cheesy if they just tried to do the series over...

Here's the problem, and I've said this many times before: if you update the costume to make it something more palatable, the true fans are going to hate anyone associated w/this project, Eliza included, which WILL hurt her career overall (look what Daredevil did for Affleck's career when added to the disaster of Gigli). If you remain true to the character etc., it will be so campy she'll never gain anymore success from it. It's doomed either way you look at it.

If you look at the superhero movies that have succeeded recently (Spiderman, X-Men, Batman) they're ingrained characters whose costumes didn't need that much tweaking, Wolverine's aside, to be cool onscreen. Obscure characters such as Daredevil, Elektra, and Catwoman needed better scripts which they didn't get. Blade was an obscure character that succeeded because he provided a fresh look at a popular subject (vampires). Wonder Woman would appear to a highly limited audience and, as such, would require both costume tweaking AND a killer script to survive much less succeed. As I've said, too many potholes. Eliza needs a more sure thing at this point to get her name back in everyone's minds, not high risk projects like this. I think we all agree we want to see much more of her, not a project that would assure less of her career in movies/TV.

Plus, there are so many people just waiting to shoot this movie down in flames. I'd rather Eliza did a few projects to get herself back on the map and to the attention of the critics and audiences in a quiet way.

Joss can't always be the darling of the critics, his luck has to run out sometime and I think WW could see them turning against him, unless the movie is perfect. Also, WW is such a recognisable character it could lead to typecasting problems for the actress who plays her...

i aggree in that eliza cant take the risk in doing this film,because i think it would affect her future film prospects if it was a flop,most of us share the same reason and concerns about this film,ive stated before that id prefer eliza to do the other joss whedon project\and let a lesser known actress take the ww job, [img]smile.gif[/img]

I think nobody's said this, but for all of what's going on, isn't it great to be talking about new stuff involving Eliza? And even if she doesn't get the part, hopefully the interset and buzz around her in these next few weeks/months will get her noticed again? (Just to remind exec's she's still around) I see it as a positive buzz for Eliza.

on the ww topic,personly i think charisma carpenter will get the job,because i think its to much of a risk for eliza,smg to take,on the subject of films,serenity,for every £/$ it makes i laugh at the foxnetwork for getting it wrong again!lol! hope to see it this week

just watched itv,linda carter said in an interview ,that the ww role should go to an actress who is young ,19 or so,and less fame baggage!
