| Apparently shes announced at Wizard World that shes doing a movie called 'Nobel Son' with Alan Rickman and Bill Pullman where shes plays an escapee from an insane asylum. Also she announced that she'll be appearing in an off-broadway play called 'Dog Sees God' in December! I think both these projects sound pretty interesting... Thanks to truefan-eliza.com |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I had heard that Eliza wanted to move back East last year, so it wouldn't surprise me. I knew Nate wanted to move back several years ago. He was talking to a friend of mine who is used to live in New York City about how much they both disliked Los Angeles. Randall Miller is attached to direct Nobel Son: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0589168/ The film is being financed by VIP a German based company, which has some info about the film on their website, which is in German. (www.vip-muenchen.de). The movie is about two sons of the Nobel prize winner, one legitamate, the other illegitimate. One is kidnapped by the other who's jealous. It mentions City Hall as a confused young artist who has a relationship with both of the sons. http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:UgB5_coB3C0J:www.vip-muenchen.de/vip-medienfonds/anleger/medienfonds/fonds2/projekte/projekt1/projekt1.htm+site:vip-muenchen.de+%22city+hall%22&h l=en Either could be a good art house film or one of those wannabe Sundance films that turns into something made for cable (ie The Kiss). At least it's something. The director on Dead Last and Freaky Links doesn't instill a lot of confidence, but they were underrated shows witha quirky sense of humor. Miller is a cousin-in-law of Danny Devito, so more nepotism at work in Hollywood. [ October 01, 2005, 06:23 PM: Message edited by: Faith_Fan ] |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Alan Rickman is excellent as villains, but I'm not sure if I can ever seeing him play a normal type of character who isn't wickedly evil. He's not the leading man type of actor who's a box office draw, but he's well respected. He's also probably done pretty well financially doing the HP films, so I highly doubt he'd take a role just for a quick paycheck, and wouldn't do a role if the script wasn't good. It seems like this character could be somewhere between Faith and Gina, which could show off Eliza at her best. It doesn't seem like a starring role, but hopefully bigger than The Kiss. If it's a decent script, it could lead to bigger roles. Of course, this nearly the same discussion many of us had when we found out about the Kiss, so I'm only cautiously optimistic. | Kiss My Pom Poms ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Alan Rickman was in Truly, Madly, Deeply and more recently Love Actually. He's a top class actor who can turn his hand to any character. I don't think we need to worry about his ability to impress when not playing a villain. This is great news though about Eliza. I'd definitely go see the play off Broadway, and the film sounds to me exactly the sort of thing she should be doing Edited to say: I just found this synopsis, shall we place our bets now about which character Eliza will be playing? DOG SEES GOD: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead is an unauthorized parody that shows what happens when everyone's favorite blockhead loses his beloved beagle to rabies. A missing penpal, an abused pianist, a pyromaniac ex-girlfriend, two drunk cheerleaders, a homophobic quarterback, a burnt-out buddhist and a drama queen for a sister are also contributing factors to the teen-angst of America's most hapless kid. WARNING: This play contains adult language and themes. It is not recommended for young viewers. *smirk* [ October 02, 2005, 07:00 AM: Message edited by: Keri ] |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I can see her as the pyromaniac ex-girlfriend, personally. I did some google research about Dog Sees God too and saw that it mentioned Michelle Trachtenberg, Anna Paquin, Patrick Fugit and a couple of other people all did a reading of the play in New York before. Kind of funny that two former Buffy stars are/were interested in this play. |
