TC Not showing - whats happened in the news?

The Sky woman just said that this weeks ep of TC (The Longest Day) cannot be shown because of the recent news coverage so they're showing the pilot again. What news coverage and why has it affected them showing TC?

It's because an England fan was stabbed in Portugal, that was one of the deaths in the episode.

Nope, nothing to do with football in the episode, the only thing that mirrors it is the actual stabbing.

Thats ridiculous, not being harsh but people get stabbed everyday, why postpone the ep? What next, someone breaks a nail in real life - oh my God, Eastenders has to be postponed because Kat did the same thing and it might make the person cry. (By the way, i am slightly bitter about the ep being postponed)

that's ridiculous! Like a girl getting shot in the head is so much better! They take censorship too far sometimes.

I can understand where you're all coming from. But I understand the decision to not show the ep out of respect for the man's family. As any incident that involves an England fan at the moment is going to be high profile because of our involvement in the Championships, and our history in previous tournaments. Other English stations have cancelled eps of series because the story line reflects what happened in real life, like Waking the Dead (similar to Cold Cases) was one that had been cancelled.

I wouldn't over react to this Tru ep not being shown, due to the circumstances. The ep may also be shown at a later date, as the incident is still recent, meaning that the ep following Longest Day could be shown next week instead.

They said it would be shown next week. They better keep to their word though, I'd be even more annoyed if they screwed up the episode order.

i didnt say that dude! I think i said it about punk'd, not TC. Basically instead of showing longest day which was episode 11, they showed episode 1.
Sky one emailed me back, next week longest day will be shown, and the series as a whole will run one week longer than originally planned due to this.
