| Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think it is a good idea to have an official thread for Easy A. Here we can post video links, pictures from the set, and etc. Anything that is related to this film. Production Date: June 9th Official Cast: Emma Stone Amanda Bynes Daniel Bird Malcolm McDowell Cam Gigandet Penn Badgley (He guest-starred in a episode of Wilay) Stanley Tucci (Co-starred in Robots) Patricia Clarkson Thomas Haden Church Alyson Machalka Lisa Kudrow (I recalled a fan that really wanted Amanda to work with her) http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...goryId=13&cs=1 "Stone plays a high school student who, after being ostracized by a false rumor she's loose, uses the rumor mill to her advantage, pitting puritanical students and teachers against their liberal counterparts. Pic was scripted by playwright Bert V. Royal, who weaves the plight of "The Scarlet Letter" heroine Hester Prynne into a parallel storyline to what the "Easy A" protagonist endures. Zanne Devine and Gluck are producing." Filming Locations: Ojai, CA *Nordhoff High School* (Not yet confirmed) Last edited by pranksalot; 06-04-2009 at 12:49 AM.. |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | If shooting begins this week I am guessing this will be released by January/February 2010. So, do we know for sure that Amanda plays the antagonist in this? Is she the heavy? The bad Guy? Emma Stones Nemesis? I bet filming will wrap before Labor Day giving Amanda time to start shooting another film before the end of the year.Having said that,it's possible Amanda could have this film come out in early 2010 and another by late summer 2010 or fall of 2010. OK, I am going to say what I know evreyone feels. Yes,it's a minor complaint but I REALLY,REALLY,REALLY,REALLY, hate the title of this film. I am hoping they change it during production. I stand by what I have said about Amanda playing a high school girl. I thought Hairspray was the last film where she played a high schooler. She played a college girl in Sydney White and Living Proof so going backwards playing a high school girl to me seems odd at 23 or 24. So, I am hoping by doing this the part is very different than anything she has done before. Translation: This MUST be something Amanda has never done before. She is typecast as playing the good child actor who plays the nice high school girl.By going back playing a role like this she has to bring something different her fans are not to expect and that is playing a very unlikable character. Fans also have to expect that this will not be a Sydney White-esque type of film. This WILL be raunchy and looking at the director's track record, it could even be Amanda's first R rated film (which I would LOVE) I would be surprised if Amanda shows some T & A but I would not be surprised to hear her swear a lot or say things we do not expect to hear from Amanda. I think playing the goody two shoes role is Amanda making fun of her good girl image and this film could be a sort of release for her. Similar to Julie Andrews breaking her Mary Poppins/good girl image in Blake Edwards film 'S.O.B.' I am hoping Amanda shocks us with this movie. That this film is unlike anything she has every done before. I hope she mocks her image and has fun doing it. I hope she plays a really bad/b*itchy girl.I hope we see a new level of comedy from Amanda but I also hope we see Amanda be funny again.(her last real 'Amanda style comedy' was in WILAY and She's the Man) I hope she over does it and really camps and hams it up. I want to hear Amanda swear and talk like we have never heard her talk before. I want Amanda to steal the film with her character. Some may not be happy and she may even lose some fans by doing this, but I hope she really lets loose and shows a different side of her. I hope they don't screw this film up and I REALLY hope Amanda has some ideas for her starring role and 2nd film for Screen Gems. Here is more on Lisa Kudrow and Cam Gigandent http://www.hitfix.com/articles/2009-...nt-join-easy-a It does look like a January date is hinted at http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/movie/easy-a/ Last edited by cdc792000; 06-04-2009 at 07:05 AM.. |

| Bynes=Love ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lisa deserves a good role too! Cam Gigandet is from Twilight, so maybe some of the manic Twihards out there will go support the film and make it huge. It seems like a good cast. I'm excited. It's being called an 'event comedy' by a website, being compared to one people are excited to see, like Date Night, with Tina Fey and Steve Carell. |

| Richy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Oooo yeh im gettin excited now If Amanda is going to play a bitchy character and this film having more than an M (15+ over here) rating i am soooo lookin forward to it. Although considering Amanda's image from what she has done over all the years im not sure it would be the best idea to go all out crazy/bad/swearing chick straight away, but maybe to do it over a couple of films, although i wouldn't mind It would be a real shock for lots of fans if she went from good girl right over to the far side of the spectrum! But im with you cdc, I'd love to see it though Im really intrigued about this movie now, cant wait ![]() |

| Bynes=Love ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I hope she's horrible and cut throat like Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada, or maybe she'll be completely sweet to your face and then stab the charactrs' backs like Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls. It's a great idea to have an official thread too Pranks. So we don't have 10,000 posts about the same thing. Haha. I'm so excited for Amanda and the cast. It's a cast like Hairspray, someone for everyone. I'm really excited. It's about time for Amanda to come back strong like this. I hope we see candid shooting photos soon! |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | The meaner the better. I am praying she plays a character that the audience just hates (but in a good way) I hated Sigourney Weaver's character in Working Girl and I hope it's along those lines. Amanda could really milk it and be funny at the same time. I'm hoping for a real Cruella Deville type of character! |

| Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I can already imagine the battle scenes between Emma Stone & Amanda. I think Amanda will play a likeble mean character. The movie has a solid cast, so I think this movie will turn out to be great. Hopefully we will get two Amanda movies for 2010! I think the title of this movie is rather clever because "easy" refers to how stone's character rise up in popularity due to her being (easy). "A" probably stands for adultery because that was the theme of The Scarlet Letter. I like this announcement. http://www.ifmagazine.com/new.asp?article=8123 "Amanda Bynes was one of those rare child stars who you actually rooted for instead of just praying they'd disappear soon." | Bynes=Love ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | We're going to have to make an Official Easy A Pictures thread, and Reviews thread too...this thread's going to have a ton of replies! I am also more excited for this than Canned. Movies stay around more than tv. Television shows can go into syndication, but they often get placed at weird times and act as filler content instead of something actually invested in. Movies can go out on DVD and be discovered at the video store, and get played on TV over and over again in prime time too, so I think the potential audience is huge. I hope the media attention for this is as good as it was for Hairspray, He's Just Not That Into You, and 27 Dresses among other recent hit comedies. I hope the poster is like Hairspray too, something like... Emma Stone, Alyson Michalka, Penn Badgley, Cam Gigandet, Patricia Clarkson, Thomas Hayden Church, Stanley Tucci, with Lisa Kudrow, and Amanda Bynes I think it was a good choice for Amanda to wait for this ensemble of well known (instead of unknown actors like in Canned) actors because most of them have recieved critical praise and have decent fan bases. I like most all members of the cast! I hope Lisa and Amanda have some great dynamic scenes together. I hope Amanda gets a huge entrance with a big comedic but also scary reveal. |

And yeh i like that comment Pranks - ""Amanda Bynes was one of those rare child stars who you actually rooted for instead of just praying they'd disappear soon." Very true ![]() Haha everyone's reporting about it, i like how this is put in empireonline: Quote:
Also another 10 things i hate about you type of movie would be a sweeeet comparison if it turned out that popular. Can't wait for more info ![]() Last edited by <3 Amanda; 06-05-2009 at 06:28 AM.. | |

I'm so excited for her! To see her act with the legendary Malcolm McDowell, the great Stanley Tucci and the brilliant Patricia Clarkson will be so wonderful! Not to mention the adorable Lisa Kudrow. I assume that the adults will be playing the teachers and principal. Can you just imagine the perennial bad boy Malcolm as a principal? LOL! Far cry from a Clockwork Orange. This sounds like it has the potential to be a big hit. I have a feeling that Amanda is going to explode across the screen in this one! And it will lead to even bigger and better roles in the future. Candace, I love the Sigourney Weaver comparison because she is one of my favorites of all time. Wouldn't it be great to see Amanda play Melanie Griffith's character in a remake of Working Girl?!? | Bynes=Love ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I did some research to see what Amanda's character would be like, possibly: Her character is described as a 'puritanical queen bee'. Just what does this say about her character? Puritanical is defined as: very strict in moral or religious matters, often excessively so; rigidly austere. I bet she's going to use to queen bee clout to turn the school against demoralized Olive (Emma Stone) and do everything in her power to shun her. Sounds interesting! |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, they are not giving us much regarding what Amanda's character will be like. My guess is that her playing a puritanical Queen Bee will mean she plays the antagonist. Ina movie like this, purity is often mocked. The Queen B means she must be a bi*ch. I was reading an older interview with Amanda and she said something about how she does movies she can actually watch with her family. Now, she said this a couple years ago but having read that I thought it was a rather immature attitude. I LOVE Kate Winslet and loved the character she played in THE READER. She played and won an Oscar for playing a Nazi guard and actually making the audience feel sorry for her, something that is NOT easy to do. Kate pulls it off with ease. Now, I doubt with the subject matter and the nudity that she would not really feel comfortable watching this with her parents or even her young children. I can say the same with Anne Hathaway in BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN or even Jodi Foster in THE ACCUSED. My point is, I wonder if Amanda was ONLY looking at family friendly films she could watch with her family.Who knows,if that is the case she may have passed on many great films.Like I said, I don't know this and she said it a couple years ago so she may have matured and now see's things a little different. I feel if so,as an actress,it's a very selfish attitude at looking for film roles. Only doing films for your parents and neglecting the rest of your audience. So, hopefully Amanda's attitude will have changed a bit as well (and that is not a dig by the way) I look at the films Anne Hathaway has done and feel Amanda could have done them all. Anne next's film is her playing Judy Garland and if anyone has ever heard Anne sing, she will be amazing. I can see Amanda doing similar roles,if she allows herself to do so. |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | Um, no she made a mistake and dated a loser for about 3 or 4 years. Because of that bad choice you are judging her? WHat other bad choices has she made, according to you?Are you saying Anne Hathaway has NOT made any decent movies? Are you aware she was just nominated for an Oscar this year? I think Anne has a better agent than Amanda does. Shlompy, are you an Amanda Bynes fan? Just curious. Last edited by cdc792000; 06-05-2009 at 06:44 PM.. |
