In its longtime fight to help end domestic violence, today, Mary Kay Inc., together with actress Amanda Bynes and non-profit partner Break the Cycle, will visit Oscar De La Hoya Animo Charter High School, part of Green Dot Public Schools, to talk to students about ways to create healthy relationships and prevent and end teen dating violence. As part of the event, Mary Kay Inc., Amanda Bynes and Break the Cycle will launch a national online campaign petitioning lawmakers nationwide to make domestic violence prevention awareness mandatory in schools.
In a recent report by the Family Violence Prevention Fund, one in four eighth and ninth grade students reported being victims of dating violence. Even more alarming, the Department of Justice consistently finds that girls between the ages of 16 and 24 experience the highest rate of intimate partner violence.

Online campaign to end teen dating violence

Today, Amanda Bynes joins with Mary Kay Inc. and Break the Cycle representatives to announce a new online petition, www.enddatingviolence.com, which encourages states to require teen dating violence prevention programs in schools across the country. Currently, only Texas and Rhode Island have required domestic violence prevention to be a part of its public school curriculum. Amanda Bynes will lead the online effort as she becomes the first person to sign the petition.

Very cool. Amanda has always done some charity work but I think this is the first major campain she has been a part of. And she is putting a lot of work into it if she is going to tour schools around the county. A lot of high school fans will get to meet her this way.

Finally the question we have all been asking was answered!

The interviewer asked Amanda about her upcoming "fun stuff". She said she is taking the rest of the year off and just enjoying being 22. She took a break because she was feeling tired but she is planning to work on a new movie next year. ( Hairspray 2 maybe?? )

The interviewer kind of caught Amanda off-guard. It was live TV and I don't think Amanda was expecting that question.

Amanda seemed very nervious in that interview. If you watch her right hand, it kind of moves alot. It could be that she is tired, she did not seem as energtic. Thanks for the video!

^I have seen her get uncomfortable in interviews, I truly thing she doesnt like them to much unless she has a really got a good repore with the interviewer. She isnt a typical celebrity who would prefer to be on TV all the time.

Thanks for finding this interview longbeach. She said she is taking the rest of the year off, at least its over pretty soon. I hope its something at the beginning of the year. I dont know if hairspray 2 will be ready yet.

I pray that she will work on a decent project before Hairspray 2. She actually jumped onto Sydney White 2 months after Hairspray. Hairspray 2 will most likely start filming in the fall of 2009. That was the same case for the first Hairspray. The studio is pushing for a July 2010 for this upcoming one.
