2008 is a very bad year for Amanda's career. When will this recession end? Steve & Barrys got a second chance when it was taken over, but now it is officially dead. I feel sorry for the hard work Amanda put into this line including all the publicity stunts she did to promote the store.

I don't know if Amanda is allow to bring her line to other retailers or not. I'm not sure if she would want to continue her line if it is not with Steve & Barrys. There isn't really any consumer-price friendly clothes retailer out there like Steve & Barrys. Amanda's line is not just clothes, but simple accessories, shoes, and purses. A celeb line with everything under $20 at a different retailer, I can't think of any.

I wonder why no reporters/papz ask Amanda questions related of the current situation of Steve & Barrys?

Oh, Lord! This is terrible news! I hope that Amanda is not too upset about this. She has a wonderful clothing line and it would be a shame if it weren't going to be distributed anymore. What a year for an Amanda fan!

Yeah this is too bad for Amanda because she really did work hard on her clothing line. It's also too bad for all those girls (and their parents) who cant buy Amanda's cool and very affordable clothes anymore :(

Looking on the bright side, this may give her some more free time to work on a new movie or TV show? ...just hoping for something good to come of this.

We all just have to be patient. Someone as beautiful and talented as Amanda will be hired by anyone who wants to make a good serious or funny movie. She proved that she is as adept at drama as comedy with Living Proof and hopefully Hollywood will sit up and take notice. I was secretely hoping that she would carve out a niche for herself in the Independent film world, just as someone like Parker Posey or Juliette Lewis did. I think that Juliette's career is exactly what Amanda should do. They both started very young. Juliette got an Oscar nomination while still in her teens and she used that clout to make many sweet and beautiful indie films while mixing it up with comedy blockbusters like Old School and Starsky and Hutch and important films like Natural Born Killers. I think that Amanda would be great in an action movie! If I were a studio head, I would get a contract with her right now while she is on the verge of becoming a big star. It's going to be so exciting seeing what she is going to do next. Or, she could do like Shelley Long did and star in tv shows, do many big budget comedies and then settle in with Lifetime-style movies. Amanda will always find work. I think that her refusal to do nudity is a sign that Amanda is a cut above the rest. Of course, look at Jennifer Love Hewitt. She has always refused nudity and her movie career fizzled out quickly and now she is in a successful tv show as the lead actress. I'm just hoping for the best for Amanda and J. Love!

Sad, but had the feeling it was coming.

Someone could pick up her line, it could be sold off in bankrupcy, im not sure Amanda would have the power to chose who to take it to though. There are some low cost retailers like Walmart and Target and slightly higher with Kohls and JCPenny. I remember it being reported that Dear was one of the best, someone might want it. You would thing low cost things would do better in recession.

She has a beautiful and exciting clothing line and people have and will want to buy it. I agree with Rory that she should hook up with a major retailer. That would be the best bet for her new career. I really hope the line continues no matter who it is with.

Sorry to bump but while I was at the mall today to go to Steve and Barry's I see they are closing shop that really stinks. I heard nothing in the news about it

I was looking at some of the Dear stuff all though not #1 Amanda is one of my top 5 fav celebs and it is a great line of products. I hope another store buys it. Also saw the short video on tv and lots of print ads around the store for Dear. She really put a lot of hard work into this It would be a shame not to pick it up

I am going back tomorrow to see what they are going to do with all the print ads. Hopefully they don't want them. I will keep you all informed

One wall in my room of some Sarah Jessica Parker and Amanda ads would be pretty cool

Here in Madison, WI we have three Steve & Barry stores two in malls and one downtown on the UW campus. The campus one only has Wisconsin clothing but the other two are full stores.

I will try and get to both full mall stores today and will have my camera with me in case I see any ad's that one you posted sparky is HOT

Read in a article that all stores will be closed in the next seven weeks.

Update before I go to work. Stopped off at one of the stores already and the lady at the cash register said she did not know what they were going to do with any of the ads in the store. She said they may give them away or sell them.

She let me leave my name and number on a sheet and write down which ones I wanted to which I put EVERYTHING

While taking the pictures I managed to make a female worker give me a weird look like I was being a creep or something. It was pretty funny.

Got you a better photo sparky before I creeped out the worker. Hopefully I can buy these from them and take even better photos of these.

Not a problem guys glad you enjoyed them. Been more emmbarresed beforew in my life so this was nothing. If I had not creeped out the worker I could have gotten more shots. But I figured before the worker calls security or something I should leave.

Went to the other location after work and they had less stock of all their clothing and less ads around the store. I saw no full size Amanda Ads only small ones that are hanging horizontally above the clothing racks. They had less Sarah Jessica Parker ads as well and only two full size of her.

There were two checkouts open one was a girl the other was a guy. Had my fingers crossed I got the guy which I did. It would be less awkward IMO.

Asked him the same question about the signs and he told me they would probably jut be giving them away when they close he went in the back to find and confirm with his manager.

5 minutes later he came out of the back room with two posters one for Amanda and one for Sarah Jessica Parker. He gave them to me for free and told me when to come back (end of December or Begging of January) for the others if they were to be available. He said these were just lying on the floor.

My camera battery is charging tonight I will take a photo of this ad in the morning. It is full size double sided 60 inches and in B&W. banged up and a few rips but since it was free I won't complain.

If you have a Steve & Barry's by your house go in and ask for the ads it doesn't hurt.
