Amanda Bynes will not be in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" after all

I wonder if it is because of the drop out of Bill Pullman and then Richard Gere. Looking for a decent leading man is difficult and will cause more delay, which may be the cause of Amanda's dropout of the play.

I'm not sure if I am happy or sad about the news. If Amanda does not make her open schedule efficient this fall, then this piece of news is sad.

Hum, im not sure if im happy or sad ether. Chances are i wasnt going to get to see it and it would have taken up 6 months of Amanda's time. I would really rather have her do a good movie. The decision could have had to do with a lot of different things including not wanting to spend 6 months in NYC, or a confliction with Hairspray 2 (I doubt thats for a while though) or another movie. Since it was all speculation from the start, we dont even know how seriously she even considered it.

Without a cast at this point Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner probably wouldnt have been live for a while, Winter at least probably later.

I too am relieved that she didn't take on the Broadway project. Although it would have increased her resume, I would still prefer that she made some movies. Us Amanda fans have been very patient during this down time. My feeling is that she has been offered a lot of scripts that require her to either get nude, cuss or drink. I am certainly hoping that she gets more adult roles in the future but I admire the fact that she is apparently sticking to her guns. Whatever she does, I will be thrilled that we have another chance to see her in action!

I think it would have been a good move for her, but I would also like to see her in another movie. She could save stage work for later in her career. Queen Latifah has also hinted at a sequel so I think it's close....

I live in NY and could have easily gone to see Amanda on Broadway if she would have done it. And yet, I am happy she wont be in it. I love movies a million times more than Broadway and would rather see her work on that instead.

Of course, if she ever did do Broadway I'd go see it just for her.
