Gere to replace Pullman in BroadWay Play. Almost seems official Amanda is casted

"RICHARD GERE is in talks to reteam with his AN OFFICER & A GENTLEMAN co-star DEBRA WINGER on Broadway.
Gere is the favourite to replace Bill Pullman in the upcoming revival of Guess Who's Coming To Dinner? opposite Winger. according to FoxNews.com.
Pullman was forced to pull out of the production because of a reported scheduling conflict.
If Gere accepts the role, it will be his first Broadway stint since he appeared in Bent in the early 1980s.
The play is based on the beloved 1968 movie, which starred Kathryn Hepburn and Spencer Tracy as the concerned parents of a young woman who brings a black doctor home as her fiance.
Amanda Bynes has been lined up to play the couple's daughter in the revival."

Now I am kinda excited. I would love for Gere to work with Amanda!

Nice. Hopefully it all goes as planned. Gere is a far bigger name then Pulman. Amanda on broadway for half a year will be kind of interesting, especialy with that cast.

Do we know if its a musical or not?

It's just going to be a regular play. No singing involve. Drama/Romance Play...there will be some comedic scenes. I'm watching the full movie that the play is based on in youtube right now. I think we should all watch the film to get a feel of what the play will be like. This will be Amanda's most diverse role as well as one of her most challenging role up to date I believe.

The negative aspect of Amanda doing this play is possibly...No 2009 movie. It depends on how long the play will last. If it is under 4 months like Katie Holmes upcoming play, then there is hope for a 2009 film coming from Amanda.

I think they usualy run for a season, so ya like 4 months most of the time.

I have seen a few plays, but never one that wasnt a musical. Im hoping ill get the chance to see this one if Amanda is in it.

I should watch the movie, I really know nothing about this story.

I'm still hoping for 'Bumped'. But the more time that goes by, the more it looks like it was just another rumor.

A Broadway play could be cool (even though I prefer movies). I'd still go just for Amanda.
