Amanda Bynes may co-star in 'The Trump-Hiltons musical comedy 2010

New York, New York (PRINSIDE.COM) July 29, 2008 - Coming off $200 million in worldwide ticket sales for the smash hit musical 'Hairspray,' director Adam Shankman has been tapped to direct and choreograph a new musical based on the popular music of the iconic Eighties band ELO (Electric Light Orchestra).

With a working title of 'The Trump-Hiltons,' the film, a comedy
set in a fantasy version of

Manhattan's famed Greenwich Village, tracks the wacky challenges faced by a trio of aging 40-something siblings when they find their trust fund is about to go bust and their lavish lifestyles with it. In a script written by newcomer Marvin Easter, the two socially-prominent Trump-Hilton sisters and their mildly autistic brother, a toy store proprietor, attempt to reinvent a centuries-old love potion and launch a designer clothing line based on insomnia and prescription pharmaceuticals to save their "Grey Gardens"-style penthouse from foreclosure.

Under consideration for leading roles are actors Steve Carell ('Forty Year old Virgin'), Sarah Jessica Parker ('Sex and the City,') and Amy Sedaris ('Strangers With Candy') as the beleaguered Trump-Hilton siblings; with Morgan Fairchild, Amanda Bynes, Leslie Kritzer and Matthew Broderick in supporting roles. The film is tentatively set for a 2010 opening."

But the thing I am rather sadden is that Amanda will be getting only a supporting role. Living Proof, Hairspray 2, now this movie...come on! But I am still excited if this is true because we get to hear more singing!

Wow, so many movie rumors. Lately there have all been from pretty credible sites (in the biz sites), one of them has got to make it to the screen. They listed a nice looking cast.

I agree with your comment about the supporting roles, she really should get her own movie.

Supporting roles aren't all that bad. They allow Amanda to shine and focus on her performance rather than opening the film. Maybe she doesn't want to do a lead film right now. Fame has never been a concern for her.

It also gives her the opportunity to try out non-comedy roles. Like the lifetime movie. Its a role she probably wouldnt get looked at for a lead. If she does really good in it, that could change. There was also Sydney Whites BO, even if it was probably due to a terrible ad campaign.

If there will be a Hairspray 2 then there is no doubt Amanda will be in it. Especially if the rest of the cast members come back. And this new musical is also a possibility because of her relation with Adam Shankman.

But out of all the rumors so far, I really hope at least Bumped is true. That movie sounds the most interesting to me and is more my kind of movie.

I actualy like these musicals a lot (if there good and hairspray was), but Bumped does sound like the biggest role for Amanda. The others seem like more supporting roles.
