How to deal with haters?

This is slightly off topic but how/what is the best way to deal with haters?

My Amanda Bynes blog has only had 2 so far but the latest one is causing a real stir. He or she is pissed because I use Shareapic so he thinks I'm making thousands of dollars off of Amanda. I don't use Google Adsense or Amazon or any other type of revenue program. He or she also registered for the message board just to ruffle the feathers of the other members, making fun of thier posts and trying to tell everyone I get paid for each post. He or she is also making derogatory remarks towards members by calling them things like gay and posers and then finally started on Amanda's acting skills and appearance.

I've pretty much ignored it and banned him from the board and moderated the comments, but how else would you suggest dealing with this situation? I am afraid it will turn people off not only to the site but also Amanda and other fan sites as well.

I live in The Netherlands, and in general almost everybody hates her or ever dont know Amanda.
I have heard alot of people sayin mean things about her, but strangely enough i dont give a sh*t. It means nothing to me. Amanda is the best thing in my live since i was a little girl, and i know what a wonderfull person she is. And nobody can ever get it out of my head.
My mom also thinks she's been a gread role-model for me and a good actress, and my mom has always supported me to travel to the usa and meet her.

In short, i ignore haters and dont give it any attention.

Yeah I'm pretty much over it. Who would actually register for two different forums just to spread some hate around? Lame...too much time on their hands I guess. This thread can be deleted now if someone wants to get rid of it since it's not about Amanda.

Feel free to ignore my paragraph or ranting...

I always find it so ridiculous when people complain about earning money from/advertising on websites. Do they honestly expect you to invest your hard earned money into making a fansite for them to enjoy and offering not even a thanks in return (granted the person you're talking about isn't a fan but it's the same with genuine visitors) then accuse you of some equivelant of robbery when you try to earn back a little of the money spent on hosting expenses? It would probably take millions of Shareapic views to cover the time you spend on that website...

As far as Shareapic goes, I'd use it even if you didn't get paid. It's one of the nets more reliable sites for long term image hosting. Imageshack or equivelants are fine for posting pictures on forums but they regularly delete the images. If you want permanent hosting there's only really shareapic or photobucket and photobucket has a limit to what you can upload and regularly exceeds it's bandwidth...

The only things I can think of to deal with it are banning the person and deleting any comments she does make. Definitely don't respond to or start a conversation with him/her, that will only encourage him/her...

Ignoring it would be the best bet. It's only the internet so I wouldn't let some CPU nerd that has nothing better to do the bug you. You handled the situation well by banning this person.
