yeah I don't understand it either. When people talk about hairspray they gush over Tavolta, how hot Efron is , Queen Laftia, and occasionally Michelle Pieffer. When they talk about Amanda, it is like...can she sing?...I don't think she will fit the part...I didn't know she can sing?...Does she have any background in singing?

Also the clips shown of Hairspray barely showed her and she is absent from Hairspray interviews and Hairspray events with the other cast members.

But the one good thing about Amanda not mentioning alot is that people are going to be shocked at Amanda impressive singing and dancing ability when they flock the theaters to see the film. Amanda has such an expressive face that she does not even have to say lines to explain what's happenning in what scene. She would have been a huge star during the silent film era where good facial expression was what was desired the most and needed to be successful in hollywood.

Well she has been absent because she is filming, nothing she can do about that.

Also the broadway people, who know the most about this movie are probably not teens. John Travolta and Queen Latiffa have already been in musicals. There are not a lot of people who know about this movie yet.

I bet When people actualy see the movie, the critics will like Amanda, most usualy say good things about her.

I completely agree. People are going to be blown away by how talented Amanda really is. Of course, those of us who love her already know how amazing she really is. I also agree with Pranks that Amanda could have been a silent film star. She has the most expressive face!
