| Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's makes me sad that to know that there could have possibly be many more wonderful interviews from Amanda... http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/ent...sets_ive_.html As I struggle with the producers of Sydney White to stop by their shoot and have a short visit, chat with the star, director/or producer, I think about all the sets I've had to go through this for. Been by this or that set, in various locales, several times. But I've learned that you wait, let the production catch its breath, "sanction" your visit, get you in and out of there in an hour and a half. They're happy, you're happy. They get a nice wire story mentioning the film, the stars, and the locale. But sometimes, your efforts to let them do their thing, and squeeze you in when they can, backfire. They string you along and jerk you around because, well, who knows why? It's never easy if there is no cracker jack unit publicist on board. I don't think Sydney, the Snow White college comedy starring Amanda Bynes that's been all over town the last few weeks, has a publicist, so I'm running into that west coast head office-East coast production communication gap. One says "Let's go for Tuesday." The other end goes, "Set visit? What's that? Tuesday's terrible. Oh yeah, we had WESH in here yesterday. Shoulda been here THEN." |

This is not as unusual as the writer makes it sound, lots of movies like to keep things secret especially this early in production. And its not surprising there press people are not doing anything yet. Most big action movies try to keep everything secret until long after production. Just look at Lovewrecked, remember how hard it was to get the trailer, they actually threatened fan sites forcing them not to post it. I dont remember getting anything from STM until it was done, near its release time they gave us a lot, website, tons of trailers, BTS’s interviews, and pictures, sometimes to much. But while production was going on stuff was hard to get. The reason for this is they don’t want the new to get old to quickly, they want to save what they have and make the news as much as possible closest to a movies public release. It's better to know the movie news when it is near the release. Personally, I prefer that way to know better about the movie. | |
