That sounds kind of low and Im sure everyone in this forum would have like to see it hit 20 million but I guess that was unrealistic. The good news is that all the analysis from the major box office analysis sites like Mojo and Prophets that analyze it from a business point of view said this was as good or better then expected, they went as far as to say that "the executives should have a smile on there faces". The initial estamated budget for this movie is 19 million. This is also a light comedy which tends to have long self lives. This movie also opened a better first week then "10 Things I Hate About You" and "Clueless" Go see this movie, it is very good, even if you not a very big fan of Amanda. Quote:

| I was hoping we might be #2. The buzz on the movie has been so much better than the others that came out. Being number 4 is still something to be proud of! It's not many actress' in Hollywood that gets to star in their own feature film [ March 20, 2006, 12:11 PM: Message edited by: Evil_Eye ] |

| That's for sure! I plan on seeing it again later this week, or hopefully the following week if it comes to the drive-in. I wish i could think of a 'favorite scene', but i can't, cause there's just too many..i do like the carnival scene, she looks so fierce when she raises that hand |

With a 19 million dollar budget it will make that back by the end of next weekend. Its also schedualed to go World Wide in the threaters, something What A Girl Wants didnt do. 11 Million for a teen comedy isnt really bad, its normal. |

It dropped off the top 10 in its 4th weekend to number 12, and it was expected to be number 10 this weekend. It took in 2 million this weekend and 1 mil over the last 4 weekdays. That keeps it just under 30 million to 29.8. It also opend around the world today but numbers for that will come later. One think that might help for the weekdays this coming week is that its spring break for at least a week for grades k-12 in more of the US. |

It did about 1.7 million in UK and $970,000 in Austrailia. It was second in both those countries just behind Ice Age, those are good numbers, equivalent to what it did in the US. It also pulled in another $350,000 from limited releases and pre-screenings in other locations and wide releases in Thailand, New Zealand and other areas. (Numbers in US dollars) |
