| Amanda Bynes just turned 18 last spring, and she still gets cast in Nickelodeon-like roles. Hosting her popular "Amanda Show" has led her to movie roles like "What a Girl Wants" and the upcoming romance "Lovewrecked," but she's often thought of still to play sweet girly roles -- even when cast as a voice, like in "Robots." Her character of Piper is a wisecracking teen whose big brother is played by Robin Williams. They live in a world of robots which includes the voices of Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, Mel Brooks, Drew Carey and many others. She didn't get to meet any of the other actors, though, until doing interviews for the film. "It's definitely odd that I'm in the movie with all these talented people, and yet I haven't met them 'til today," Bynes tells Zap2it.com. "It's definitely different, but it's exciting, I'm so lucky to be able to be a part of this movie." A fan growing up of Disney animated classics like "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Little Mermaid," Bynes has voiced video projects in the past like "Charlotte's Web 2" but now she's looking to break away from children's roles -- ever so slowly. She wants to do Broadway someday, maybe "My Fair Lady." "Meanwhile, I'm just looking for roles that are right for me and everything I've done has been true to myself," she says. Always aware that she's a role model for youth, she doesn't want to shirk her image and become a rebel, like some of her teen counterparts have done. "Christina Aguilera grew up sort of, you know and well -- she was on, I think she was on the Disney show, so I think, you know, well everybody rebels," she hesitates, not wanting to trash any other actresses. But, she doesn't see herself taking her clothes off in front of the camera, or lighting up a cigarette for a film role. "I definitely wouldn't do any of that, but that's where I am right now. I don't think I would ever do anything like that, just because I don't really enjoy watching that myself." While growing up just an hour's drive from Hollywood, Bynes continued to go to public school, and hopes to someday go to college. "I actually went to high school up until senior year, so I was there with my friends so I really don't feel I missed out on anything," she sys. "And I definitely will at some point in my life will go to college, I love and am fascinated by psychology, so that's something that I'd like to learn more about." She credits her parents with keeping her grounded. "They get all credit, because they are just wonderful people, and I think people who have problems in their life, it always sort of goes back to things that the parents didn't do, you know what I mean?" Bynes explains. "That's sort of, that's your core, so, I'm really lucky." She's finishing the third season of her latest TV show "What I Like About You" and hopes to do a fourth before breaking off to a film career as an adult. "I really wanted to do something that was a little bit older than the TV shows for teenage girls and young adults, just because I was growing up," As she grows up, she's learning to relax by doing adult type things too -- like get massages and facials. "I also like nature and meditation, and love to go to movies. prolly already posted .. oh welllllll lol |
