These are questions from when she was 17. Anyone who wants to can also ask questions in this topic ( and please do) and we'll all try to get them aswered. 1. Candy? LIKE! My favorites are Red Hots and plain M&Ms the most. I always get one of those at the movies. 2. Coffee? Dislike. I like the scent of the beans, but I don't like the taste. 3. Astrology? I like! I'm very into astrology. I'm an Aries. It's a fire-sign, so it means a passionate person. Not like, "Oh, I'm so passionate!" but like in an argument, I put my all into it. 4. Sports? Um...I don't like to play them, but they're fine to watch. Diamonds? Like! Very much! It's the Aries birthstone, so hello! 5. Breakfast? Like. My favorite thing ever is chocolate-chip pancakes. If I'm trying to be healthy, then I like an omelet with tomato, mushrooms, green and red peppers with lots of mozzarella cheese. And LOTS of ketchup! 6. The peasant look? Hmmm. It's not my favorite look in fashion. I do have a new peasant shirt that I've got on right now, but it's a worn-out trend. I liked it initially, but then it was on everyone, so I'm like "OK, next trend!" I think you can never go wrong with a good pair of jeans. 7. Driving? LIKE! I like driving. It's preferred to not being behind the wheel. I wanted to drive since I was a little, so getting my license was really important to me. I wanted a BMW convertible, but my parents made me get a Honda Accord. 8. Going to the movies? Like. The last movie I saw was Star Wars. I'm so busy, I don't get to go to the movies much. 9. TV commercials? They can be irritating, but I like the Levi's belly-button-singing commercials. 10. London? I like it. The shopping is great, the people are friendly. It's a little crazy that they drive on the other side of the road. 11. Making movies? I like it. In What a Girl Wants, I'm a 17-year-old girl who goes to London to meet her father for the first time. 12. Getting up early? HATE IT! I hate it, hate it, hate it with a passion! I'm not a morning person. 13. Talking on the Phone? Not my favorite. Not that I don't like messages, but I'll never return your calls. Not because I don't like you, but because I've never liked talking on the phone. 14. Email? Also not my favorite thing. Weird, right? I type fast, but it's hard because things can get misunderstood. I'm sarcastic, so people can take things wrong, so prefer to just talk to you in person. 15. The Prom? Never been. But I really want to go to mine. 16. High school? I like it. I actually go to a regular school when I can. I go for the social, to see my friends. 17. Being liked by someone you don't like back? That's so sad! That is such a sad question. I'm stumped! 18. Having a song stuck in your head? I don't mind it, but it drives everyone else crazy when I don't stop singing. I don't even mind it when they tell me to not quit my day job! 19. Britney Spears? Oh, come on! There are so many anti Britney people! I respect Britney. I think she's talented and everyone needs to get off her case. More power to her. 20. Angels? Ah...I like the idea. There are angels. Your friends are your angels. Am I getting sappy? 21. Dental floss? I rarely do it, but I heard it's good for you. 22. The dentist? My dad's a dentist, so anyway! 23. Friends, the TV show? Of course! Who doesn't like that show? I also like Felicity, The Simpsons and The Family Guy. 24. Gossip? I don't like. It gets out of hand, and you can get trapped in it. You have to be honest in life. There's no point to lying or putting people down. 25. Cleavage? I'm trying! I think to a certain extent, it's perfectly fine. Women are beautiful. But I think some go overboard. 26. What I Like About You? I LIKE IT! My character's name is Holly, and I'm 16. I live in New York with my big sister. She's a kooky character who gets into trouble even though she means wellÑit ends up well. I'm so excited to play her. 27. Co-star 90210 veteran, Jennie Garth I like Jennie very much. I was always a little too young for 90210, but I always knew of her. I always thought she was really pretty. And we have the same birthday, April 3. We got to celebrate it while making the pilot, and we got this big cake that had pictures of us on it. It was meant to look exactly like us, but they were made in frosting so they looked like demonic versions of us! For my piece, I ate a piece of my head! 28. Concerts? LIKE. I just went to see No Doubt in London, and I got to go backstage and watch them from two feet away. It was very exciting. 29. Lip gloss? I'm a fan. I like Lancome juicy tubes. That's what I've been wearing throughout the movie. 30. Going on dates? I don't like them. If it's a boyfriend that you know well, that's cool. But it's not my favorite thing when it's the awkwardness of a first date. 31. Hamburgers? Not my favorite. I don't really like hamburger meat. 32. Chicken? I like it. I love roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and salad. 33. Ketchup? What's up with me and ketchup? WELL, I like ketchup on potato things, like fries, and I like it on eggs and on chicken. Everyone is baffled by my chicken-ketchup thing, but it's good! 34. Bikinis? I like them! Why not!? 35. Surfers? Like. My friend, Lauren, is a surfer, and I really want to learn how to do it. 36. Girls who skateboard? More power to 'em! 37. Sneakers? I like. I wear Pumas and Nikes. 38. Amusement parks? I love Disneyland. And I love roller-coasters, oh ya! 39. Horses? They're beautiful, but I can't ride them. 40. Cell phones? They can be irritating. It's good to be able to get ahold of people, but personally, I think they're taking over the world. 41. Being famous? It's OK. I mean, I like doing what I do, becoming another person and doing roles, so being famous kind of comes along with it, but sometimes I feel like I'm under a big magnifying glass. Sometimes I don't want to wear makeup and just be in peace. 42. Big glamour? I LIKE! I don't live my life in the "actressey" way. I am the same as any girl, but I like to get dressed up and feel glamorous. 43. Big hair? Not for me, but it's fine for other people. I always straighten my hair. 44. High heels? I like. They're not the most comfortable or practical, but they're fun when you're going out. 45. Rap music? I like it. I like that there's music for every mood you could be in. 46. Country music? It's fine. Not my favorite. 47. Tattoos? Not for me! I don't want to brand myself. 48. Cowboy hats? I liked them at one point, but I wouldn't wear one now. 49. Cheerleaders? I was one! When I was six, I was on a squad. People would say , "Ah, they're so cute." 50. Hair dye? I think it's cool. Gwen Stefani pulls it off. 51. Kelly Osbourne? I like her. When I watch The Osbournes, I think it's pretty funny. 52. Music videos? Like. My favorite is *Nsync's Pop. 53. Sleepovers? They're OK. I like my own bed. 54. Jewelry? Like. I have a ring that I wear on my right hand that I never take off. It's a simple band, and I wear it on the show. 55. Getting married young? I think you should enjoy life. I wouldn't do it. 56. Shopping? I like! 57. The Oscars? I like the outfits. I used to sketch their outfits when I watched it because I wanted to be a fashion designer. But now it seems less and less realistic. Maybe I'll design my wedding dress someday, who knows? 58. Laying out in the sun? I like the sun, I know it's really bad for me, but I'm also a big supporter of sunscreen. 59. Stuffed animals? They're fine. 60. Little white lies? Dislike! I don't think that lying under any circumstances is good. Being honest will keep you out of bad situations. 61. Cigarettes? HATE. I hate cigarettes! If I were offered a cigarette, I'd say "NO THANKS!" 62. Dogs? I like dogs a lot! I like puppies. At home I have two dogs, a golden lab, Tootsie, and an Australian shepherd, Betty. 63. Cats? I don't like cats as much as dogs. They're fine, but they have an attitude problem. It's like they have PMS! 64. PMS? Don't like! Ask anyone around me they'd say they didn't like mine, either! 65. Mohawks I don't really think about them. 66. Video games? No, I don't like them. I don't like to play anything like that. 67. Books? Like. My favorite book of all time is Matilda. Recently, I read Memoirs of a Geisha. It was a beautiful and wonderful story. 68. Sleeping in? LOVE. I have no time to do it, ever. 69. Gothic clothes, hair or decor? Like! I wear black polish throughout What a Girl Wants. 70. Midriffs? It's fine. I like to show mine every now and then. 71. Moody people? I'm not one to say because I can be really moody. I get short tempered and mean. Later, I'll regret things that I say and I'll tell the person I was just being dumb. 72. Having a photo taken? I hate it! I have to do it for work, but I don't like it. 73. Hanging with friends? Love. My friends mean so much to me. They're really important to me. I've had the same few friends since I was in grade school. (Source 1-73: GL Magazine Q&A, November 2002) [ March 08, 2006, 02:47 AM: Message edited by: open32 ] |

What kind of guys do you like? I think every girl wants someone who is smart and funny, and I do too. But I want someone who is interesting. I mean, I want to be attracted to him, but beauty fades. There are many guys and girls who grew up being beautiful and never had to be smart or look hard for anything. (Source 74: CosmoGirl Online, 2005) I know what I want. I want too be sure of everything in my life and be so good on my own that someone comes in to compliment it. I want someone who is happy. I don’t want someone who needs me. I want someone who is good on his own. (Source 74: CosmoGirl Magazine, October 2005) |

Do you enjoy doing comedies or do you want to try a more serious role? I enjoy comedy for sure. Maybe one day I will do something dramatic. It is fun to do things I want to watch. 76. Did you know you would get involved with comedy? No. When I would write down what I wanted to be, I would write I want to be an actor, comedian, hairdresser and fashion designer. 77. Do you get recognized walking down the street? Yes. The older I get, the more people are familiar with the things I have done. That is really nice when they are nice. When they are not so nice, it's not nice. 78.Was it hard making the change from Nickelodeon to "What I Like About You"? No. It was just different. As I got older I was ready to move on. But it is like when you are in school, when you finish fourth grade you are ready for fifth. You remember it, but you are excited to move on. 79. What do you like to do during your free time? I love to draw and paint. If I wasn't an actor I would probably want to be a makeup artist or a clothing designer. I love to go to the movies and go out to dinner. I like to be with my friends, but I also like to be alone. 80. What do your friends call you? My friends call me AB. My mom's nickname for me is Chicky, because when I was born my brother said I looked like a chicken. That never wore off. 81. Would you ever be interested in a singing career? I don't think so. I might sing if I have to in a movie one day. I want to get better as an actor. 82. What kind of car do you own? I have a Lexus and it is really nice. I first had a Honda and I drove that for a couple of years. I saved up and got the Lexus. 83. Do you get star struck? I definitely do. When I met Johnny Depp, that was huge. Did you ever see the movie "Cry Baby"? It is one of my favorite movies, so meeting him was really cool. (Source 75-83: NewsWeek, July 2005) |

What was it like to try on all the pretty dresses for our shoot? I never went to prom so it was really fun to wear the beautiful dresses and have my hair and makeup done in different ways. 85. Did this shoot create a prom experience for you? Its just fun to wear a gorgeous dress. Its sort of what I assume getting married is like. It was a lot of fun, but since I wore about eight dresses for the shoot, by the end I was like I want to get back into jeans. 86. When you went to high-school dances ho did you find your dress? I used to go shopping with my mom. You know, never a specific place. I found the dress that spoke to my heart. 87. Did you ever plan what you where going to wear to prom? Oh definitely. I mean I always thought I would wear a Jessica McClintock dress. I was like, “Those are the best.” 88. How would you describe your style? It’s still totally developing. I don’t really have one specific style yet. I like to feel comfortable, but I definitely like to wear things nobody else has, like if I can find a cute skirt from a flea market or a vintage store I like mixing cheap with more expensive. 89. What are your favorite going out looks? I love denim skirts, like denim Levi’s or skirts that are cut a little bit above the knee, but are not too, too short. I like wearing them with a rocker tee or maybe a T-shirt and vest. I like a comfortable, easy look. 90. How has your style hanged over the past couple of years? I definitely care less about designers. I used to want to get one really nice thing, but then it’s just like, what’s the point of having just one really nice thing? So I like to go shopping and get a bunch of stuff for less. I like to find good deals. I like finding a pair of funky shoes that can kind of glam up an outfit. 91. Where do you shop for fun, inexpensive clothes? I go to Forever 21 all the time. My sister and I love going there, just for little things like vests or jackets. Its not stuff you’ll have for long, but it’s great to go there for fad things. The classic things are what I want to spend m money on. I want to save my money too, I don’t want to just blow it on every popular thing. It just looks so trashy to wear every trend at once. 92. Any embarrassing fashion moments on the red carpet? Once I wore a black tubetop and really skintight jeans. I was 14 at the time, young and had no idea. I thought it was such a fun outfit. Who knows what I was thinking. 93. Do you feel pressure to look a certain way in Hollywood? No, I’ve luckily never felt that way. I’m not doing this to be sought after for fashion or makeup tips. I’m doing it becouse I like to play characters. 94. Where you able to relate to your character in your new movie Dirty Little Secrets? My characters name is Viola, and she definitely gets along better with guys. I have girl and guy friends, but she is much more of a tomboy then I am. She is a major soccer player and is dead serious about it. That’s how I feel about my career ad doing movies. So I think we both have dedication. 95. Tell us about the part of the film, is she late for prom? No, it’s actually a nightmare scene. It’s like a dream sequence and the way they are shooting it, its kind of Baz Luhrmann-ish, with a lot of different colors and things, so I hope it’ll look good. I’m really excited to see it! 96. You went to an all-girls school, so you had to ask guys out, what would you tell a girl who wants to ask a guy to prom? Just ask him, and if he’s a jerk and doesn’t respond, then who needs him? It’s better to find out early. 97. When you where little, did you ever fantasize about a dream prom date, who was it? At the time probably Leonardo DiCaprio. Just cause I loved Romeo & Juliet. 98. What is your advice for getting a guy’s attention if you have a crush on him? I think just be honest with your feelings without being completely desperate and needy. Know that you don’t need him. I just try to be myself. I really believe that if a guy doesn’t like you for who you truly are, then having to come up with a way to not be yourself and like, lie, well…not lie, but play games and act cool or whatever…its like, ugh, who has the time? 99. So what kind of a guy are you looking for now? Eh, I'm just having fun, but you know, you’re always looking for that special someone. And you never know, it could literally be your best guy friend, and you don’t even realize it. 100. Is that the case for you now? Maybe…I don’t know I don’t want to jinx anything.
