Michael Bay Announces "Transformers 3" Release Date!

Director Michael Bay has announced on his official website the release date for Transformers 3 and says they are jumping right back into it! Oh, and he included a note to Megan Fox as well...

Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Yep, he's been under contract since the first film to do atleast 3.

Posting on the Don Murphy message board, Transformers and Transformers Revenge of the Fallen writer Roberto Orci has confirmed that himself and Alex Kurtzman will not be returning to write a third film.

He goes on to state later in the same discussion thread that Ehren Kruger will be taking on full writing chores for the third movie, and assures fans that Mr Kruger knows his Transformers.

Well, they did say back after the worldwide release of "Revenge of the Fallen" they weren't sure if they'd be back or not for the 3rd.

Orci & Kurtzman gave this answer in a recent interview about why they won't be returning to write the 3rd "Transformers" film while discussing writing J.J. Abrams "Star Trek 2", "Cowboys & Aliens", & other projects they are currently working on.

On how they won't likely be returning to pen a third "Transformers" film:
Orci: We've been working on "Transformers" longer than I was in college. I think we have our degree in "Transformers" now.

Kurtzman: I think it's just a question for us of, the franchise is so wonderful and it deserves to be fresh all the time. I think we just felt like we had given it a lot and didn't have an instinct for where to go with it next. We said "You guys should do it right."

Orci: The studio said "Oh yeah, if you guys want to come back, come back." But we never want to do that unless we have an idea. We always think that the best idea should win. That means opening it up to everybody.

Michael Bay to Kill Off Megan Fox in "Transformers 3"?

Megan Fox has said pretty awful things about the "Transformers" movies and director Michael Bay. Crew members have nothing but bad things to say about her and Bay has been disappointed with her comments, but has recently stated that he will bring her back for the third installment.

Now that work is getting under way to meet the July 1st, 2011 release date, Bay and writer Ehren Kruger have apparently decided to cut their ties with the actress.

An insider told Insider magazine that Bay is considering writing Fox out of the series in a gory death scene that will take place during the first few minutes of the new movie. He will then replace her with another gorgeous young actress to provide the eye candy.

"Michael's pretty much discovered Megan and now he's very quietly looking for her replacement," said the insider. "He hasn't decided if he's going to kill her off in the next movie, but he just wants to be prepared."

Not to sound mean, but good, I don't really like her that much. And it has nothing to do with the fact that her character in the movie is Sam's girlfriend.

I didn't really like Transformers 2 as much as the first, but don't get me wrong it was good but I though the first one was one of the best movies I've ever seen. Hopefully this one is better

On the Blu-ray Special Features Disc for "Revenge of the Fallen" there is a game called "The Allspark Experiment" where you can make your own Transformer from various parts of vehicles in 5 different classes of vehicles. If you are/were lucky enough to have found the secret combination for the 5 different vehicle classes this is/was your reward for doing so.

Now, if you paid close attention to what Bay said in the beginning this could be part of his & Paramount/Dreamworks' infamous misinformation campaigns like they have always done since the 1st Transformers Film or he could actually be giving small subtle hints as to the way TF3 will really be. Basicly, take what Bay or anyone else involved in TF3 with a grain of salt cause the public will not know the official truth till it's released worldwide July 1st 2011.

Paramount Considering 3D for "Transformers 3"

In an article at Variety talking about films getting converted into 3D, the trade says it is still a possibility that Transformers 3 might add a dimension:

Bay's next project is "Transformers 3," and there have been discussions among Bay, Paramount and Industrial Light & Magic about going 3D with the pic. The big stumbling block is the extra time required to do production and visual effects in 3D, as the movie's release date is already set. Having the pic post-converted could alleviate that problem.

The third installment is scheduled for a July 1, 2011 release.

Director Michael Bay says that Skids and Mudflap, which caused some controversy for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, will not be back for next summer's Transformers 3. Bay posted a simple message on his forums stating that "The Twins are not back in T3."

In related news, actress/comedienne Kym Whitley posted on Twitter yesterday that she's part of the cast. "Working on Transformers 3 today, a little nervous...always when starting a new project. I have said the Lords prayer 12 times," she said.

Transformers 3 is scheduled for a July 1, 2011 release.
