Posts & Embedded Content

At the core of your site is the posts system. It is a feature that cannot be turned off, and is intended to act as a blog style news update system. Create a post whenever you have news to share, or want to mention new content you have uploaded. The most recent post appears at the top of the front page of your site.

Site visitors can leave

comments and

rate their favorite posts.

Embedded Tag Syntax

Those familiar with HTML/XHTML will recognize the syntax.

Tags can optionally wrap content to act as a caption -- i.e. [video id="6"]this is my video caption[/video].

Self closing (i.e. [video id="6" /]) and unclosed (i.e. [video id="6"]) formats are both supported.

Embed Content

Embed pictures, video and polls directly into any post by clicking the buttons at the top of the post editor.

The buttons: Polls

, Pictures

, Videos

The embed buttons will generate a tag that looks like [picture id="4"] or [video id="6"]. When viewing a post on the site, these tags are automatically converted into the actual content, such as a picture or video player.

For precise control of embedded content position, set the align property on each tag. For example, use [picture id="6" align="left"] to left-align a picture. Acceptable align property values are left, center and right.

To specify an alternate width/height for embedded content, set width= and height= properties on the tag. These dimensions are measured in pixels. For example, [video id="2" width="320" height="260" /].

To display multiple pictures on the same row, use the

table edit button in the post editor to create a table with multiple columns. Then, put your cursor inside each cell and insert one [picture] tag into each cell.

Post In Advance

Set a future date and time as the post date, and your post will not be shown on the site until that time. This is convenient if you want a post to go live first thing in the morning, on a specific day, or if you will be away and would like to queue up content in advance.
