Problem! Need answers PLEASE

I have a question:

since yesterday, when I open fanhost I sometimes get a pop up window where Windows Vista Anitivius 2008 wants to get installed. I found out it´s a fake thing

but it´s annoying and only when I´m at fanhost.

that seems to be the thing about it, it wants to scan you computer and tells you have this and that, although there is nothing

cause my regular antivirus system tells me I have no virus or anything else.

Thing is it only happens on this side here, at fanhost!

I hope people can help me what I can do, cause it´s annoying, cause I have to close the whole FF all the time, so it doesn´t come back that fast.

and I would be happy if someone can tell me really fast what I have to do, or if there is something with fanhost that it always comes here. I when I go on other sides it doesn´t pop up.

Mine's too. And I'm running Opera on Linux, so it's nothing related to my computer (or yours).

Probably Fanhost has been cracked. I'm trying to find a temporal fix.

First impressions:

- By just entering Fanhost with Firefox and all scripts enabled, annoying spam site loads after five or six reloads.

- However, if I just allow scripts from Fanhost.com, nothing odd happens.

So, a workaround is disabling scripts or (less radical) allowing scripts only from Fanhost. "Noscript" extension for Firefox is amazing for this. Internet Explorer users will have to use its "zones" configuration.

Oh that´s really good to know so it´s not only my problem, I thought my computer is nuts again!

so anyone is contact with Marc? so we can tell him about that fast? cause it´s really annoying!

I didn´t had it since I´m back at the moment, but I don´t wanna say something.

I just hope, whatever it is, it gets fixed as soon as possible.

cause it really only happens at fanhost, no problems on other sides.

I just don´t undersatnd what you are talking abozt mced.

can you emplain for none computer specialsts?? what scripts? how to disable? can you make screenshots?

this is so damn annoying cause everytimes fanhost gets shot down also.
so is that a fanhost problem?? does the admins or marc have to do something about that to fix it?

I hope this annoying problem gets fixed soon, cause you can´t surf at fanhost with that with fun. cause I hate always having to start it new when I was just looking at something

Ive had problems today also. Some kind of scanning website, Luckily my anti-virus stopped them getting into my computer. Its only happens on fanhost networks, it happened this morning and again this afternoon. Uk time!

I installed this ad on now, this extension, but now my reply box looks different that I usually have it okay, what do we have to do? cause it´s not normal, and it´s only at fanhost, so it must be something wrong where which has to get fixed.

eliza'snumber1fan: that scanning is completely fake. It's funny to watch it detecting my corrupt EXE and DLL files, when my operating system doesn't have them :D

well i allowed fanhost but actually this thing is even more annyoing cause it pops up on every single page, so I have to allow them all?

I think the people of Fanhost should better just fix the problem instead of letting us install such things who are even more annoying

Noscript is a must have for every Firefox user. It's a little annoying, but it increases security to high levels.

Anyway, I'm trying to find which one is the "guilty" advertisement domain. It's hard because of its random behaviour. Once I find it (or anyone else), it will be easy to block it.

oka,y let us know what you found out, cause I just uninstalled teh NOscript thing again, cause it´s even more annoying, and I had no problems with anything like that before

I think teh technical staff of fanhost should take care of that and fix the problem. i mean it´s nots that only one person has teh problem, but a few or even a lot of people. so it must be something wrong with the fanhost side. and that shoudk get fixed.

Just logged on about five minutes ago, and I got a malware pop up. Closed it, but it decided to 'scan' my computer, rather quickly I might add. So I clicked on my bookmark for FH, and it's not returned yet. I've got the latest Firefox as well. What the heck is this? Why do people hack into sites like this? And for what 'pleasure'?

Not necessarily.

Another workaround is keeping Noscript in Firefox, and use another browser to load other sites (Mozilla, Opera, Safari... *cough*... MS IE...) until this annoyance is fixed.

oka,y now I got a waring from my antivirus programm about a malware, it says i shoudl not panic (but i DO) and should put it in the container. I guess there i can delete it right?

and right after my antivirus programm tol dme that the pop up came again

so really, what the hell is that? where are the admins when you need them??

this is getting more serious now, and I have no fun about that. I wanna be at fanhost but without getting warings about malware or anything
