unable to post pictures

I see other people posting pics, apparently hosted by this forum, but when I try to upload one for a post, it won't let me, saying

Upload of file failed.

The pic is within size limits and has .jpg extension, and it's not corrupted. My only suspicion is that maybe I need an obscenely large post count or for some switch to be flipped to be able to post a pic. I found nothing like a FAQ explaining it. Can someone clue me in? Thanks.

you need to upload pics with imageshack, photobucket or something. when you post them as a thumbnail then, they will open with the Fanhost gallery.

Aloha is completely correct. (^Thanks) The photos posted on the forum get automaticly uploaded.
