Default Fanhost keeps crashing my browser

I'm using IE7 and windows XP.

Sure IE7 can be a bit buggy but this is the only site this happens on. No problems with the old site.

It's also a hell of a lot slower since the change.

I guess I'll be avoiding there for a while, shame really, I wanted to check up on the Fantasy football.

Last week it was taking a long time for the sports forum to load. It would appear to have loaded, then when I would start moving the page down, it would freeze for 5-10 seconds.

Never really checked out the error message before now but yeah, last time it shut down it said there was a problem with an add on.

Seems that Flash is the problem - Flash9c.ocx

Ya, thats the same problem people have mentioned in 2 other threads. It has to do with anything flash, which some of the here ads are. Its a common problem with the IE7 and the new mod to Flash9.

This is what I posted in the other thread. Im not sure what can be done about it, it looks like its up to Microsoft of Macromedia to come out with a patch.

Quote:
Its not FH releated. Flash is a browser ActiveX ad on object for IE. It sucks with IE7 and makes the browser suddenly close. It can become corrupt when more they one open tab uses Flash9 at the same time. Google: "flash9b.ocx", for more info.

I dont know how to permanently fix it, but uninstalling it and reinstalling it will work temporarily (untill it becomes corrupt again). You kind of need it for youtube vids and other flash video. Here is how from the adobe site http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157

Or switch browsers.

If anyone has any suggestions or has encountered the problem and delt with it, please post it.

Seems to be okay now that i've dissabled Flash and seeing as I'm on 12 kb dial up I can do without anything Flash related. The connection is to slow to bother about Youtube videos anyway (they rarely load) so I guess I'm not missing out on much.

I am now encountering the problem with Flash9d.ocx so I have stopped using multiple tabs while in FanHost.
