Starlets - 50 post minimum to view?

this was done at the request of the mods of that forum. Do others feel this way? If so we can fix. Basically it is to prevent lurkers. MongKey... you are 2 posts away...

I think it's a bad decision. There's nothing wrong with lurkers, in fact the problem lies on the complete opposite side of the scale, as it's the people who spam the forum with OT crap just to keep threads "active" that are hurting the forum.

I mean at this point, what's the incentive to even post pictures in there? You know you'll get a cookie cutter response whether people appreciate your pics or not. The forum desperately needs quality, not quantity of posts.

The one that posts nothing.. gives no pictures.. gives no appraise.. gives no info.. but somehow.. in your logic.. is better.

No, I get what Matt means to an extent. There is a bit of a culture in Starlets of lots of replies like 'nice post, thanks' from people in threads they never seem to post any pics in. I don't see how that is *really* any better than being a lurker to be honest?

Yes we got tired of the lurkers. We're not posting tons of pictures for nothing. We want some appreciation for what we do here. To me it's just rude to take the pics without saying at least thank you.

Lurkers aren't contributing but they're not hurting the scarlets forum either.

There are people who do contribute to the forum but only in very small dosses and then fill the forum with useless spam just to keep threads active, which I personally feel hurts the forum.

If you want to put in effort to improve the forum, I just think improving the ratio of pictures to spam should be a higher priority.

the ratio is 5 posts but only if there's shortage of pics. otherwise you can post away as much as you like. we set that ratio up so the threads won't die and it worked like a charm. Look how the threads in starlets was before that. dead!

also to add to what jonny said. It isn't that easy to update your thread all the time. I mean you try it. You update it and boom you got to update it again in 30 minutes. Some people can't do that all the time.

most are like 10 posts away from 50 anyway. stop being pansies.
