Starlets - 50 post minimum to view?

Posting for the sake of posting.. how is that bad? I'm trying to understand here but wouldn't that mean that he's posting because he's having fun and wants to post on teh board? No one is ignoring what you people are saying. I have responded to almost every comment on here. boo hoo, to you about your thread that gets pushed down to page 2. Everyone has a PAGE that they want to see and have posted on. I have two topics that I post pics on and respond to, it goes to page 2 I don't cry about it. I use the alphabetical list and post a response or add more pics. The forum is active, probably one of the most active forums on fanhost. Why do you hate the fact that those who are posting there are having fun and enjoying the board?

as to that semi newbie.. yes.. he copy and pasted a response on everything and even on threads that had no pics with nice pics, thanks. He posted some good stuff in starlets but people should seriously look at the rest of the board. There's so many interesting topics that it's sad that the only place you can find to spam is by making a topic and replying 50 times in a row.

Rory, Big Poppa replied about the 50 post situation, not about the spamming. I've been asking for an admin to respond, simply because moderators have been known to do the spamming themselves, so I wanted to know that an unbiased administrator could at least look into our complaints.

If the 1 picture to 5 posts rule is in effect, I'm not seeing it enforced across the board. Maybe something has dratiscally changed in the last few days but I can remember tons of threads where the ratio wasn't 1/5.

TrineX, if a couple of posters want to have "fun" talking amongst themselves, going off on tangents, surely they can have the same "fun" through private messages? That way the rest of us can have the pleasure of not having to read through all the crap.

I only brought up the thread being pushed back story because you insinuated that the people against the spamming don't post enough in Starlets and have a misconception about the posters there. I've posted in there plenty and saw first hand how bad the situation is, if I hadn't I wouldn't be able to cite that situation.

I'm all for fun but let's make this enjoyable for everyone and people flooding the Starlet's forum, is annoying for myself and I'm sure for many others as well.

About the only place I did post was on the starlets forum,and given time I would have achieved 50 posts.Now with this new rule I am forced to be a "lurker"(actually the word is "lurk",there is no such word as "lurker" in the english language.)I hate to be a nuisance,but as soon as I get 50 posts,I`ll go back to posting in the starlets forum,where I actually have something to contribute.

yeah because it seems there was a reset when the change was made to the new set up. For example I think this is going to be listed as post "two" for me but I've been posting here or there going back to 2001.. I'm made more posts then two in around 5 years. as I said, not a big deal, just not a very friendly thing do to for truly new users. Also sort of funny being as I said before, none of main mods/admins seem to really make anything new, they just find pics and info other places..

So great, find the HDtv vidcaps etc I spent some nerdy digital stalker like time making, then post them in starlets, where I, the pic maker, can't get into till I get around to making 50 posts.

Again, this does not really effect me being I mostly just pop over here every now and then to check the JLH area (reason I signed up in the first place back in 2001). I come here more for the friendly back and forth and info sort of posts then I do pics. I just felt the need to say the 50 post limit sucks, being unlike most, I make some of the pics others post here in the first place. I like to think that gives me at least a little bigger soap box to rant off then most

So it's pretty darn funny that someone else finds and posts pics I made, then others post thank you or other one line spam stuff and all of THEM get into some other area, off pics I spend time making..

That was for starlets only and its not really a rule to be enforced.

O come on, no its getting ridiculous. We dont make pictures, nobody on any forum does. There all leaked from media sources. I do capture from TV and DVD's a few of the video clips and screen caps I post. Thats the most we can do, where not the photographers.

Sorry, when I said across the board, I meant across the board in Starlets. Really dumb phase to use when talking about forums on my part.

It seems the mods just have a blind spot when it comes to this subject - they honestly can not see why people are pissed off at their arbitrary rules, or why replying to every single thread in the Starlets forum at once with just a "thanks" is spam.

To be fair, since the site relaunch there is less of the 'thanks' replying going on. I wonder if that has anything to do with this thread?

Either way, it has to be a good thing.

I've always thought of spam when applied to forums as being a being replying to threads to increase post counts, rather than actually contributing to the thread's usefulness. But as post count doesn't seem to matter to anyone here then I guess replying lots to a series of threads in one board can't be classed as spam.

I think we have done a fair job of explaining why we are doing the 50 post minimum.
