Problems with smilies?

I can see smilies posted by other people, but when it comes time for me to post a smiley, they don't appear. All I see is a tag of some sort. In fact, if I were to put a smiley here --> <img> (this was supposed to be the dude with the 'fro) <-- I see a "broken image" icon, and yet I can see the smiley in my smilies list just fine.

is that to all the smileys or just that one?

All of them. <img> That's the "big cry" smiley. Does it show up?

Camino is another web browser. So there's IE, MyIE2, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Camino. These are the main browsers, I think.

Mind you, Camino is also a Mozilla project. The original Mozilla browser might also still exist, because Firefox definitely didn't kill off ALL their other browser projects.

You guys probably have a setting turned off in the user cp.

How is it possible that this is a UserCP problem if I can post a smiley using Camino, but can't do so in FireFox? Haven't tried Safari using this site yet. Might check it out later.

Yes there are. The smiley settings are just well hidden, as a way to reduce smiley use and therefore board traffic. Go on UserCP, Edit Options, Miscellaneous Options and switch the Message Editor Interface from 'Basic' to 'Standard'.

There is a setting for advanced options.
Use Enhanced Interface. This will not help abstracts problem.

I don't know how there could possibly be misinterpretation.

I can post smileys, but I need to use Camino, which is a particular browser. If I click on one of the smileys on the right side, nothing happens. All you get is an empty tag, so when I hit the REPLY button, no smiley appears. Clicking on one of the smileys on the right works in Camino, so I just use Camino when I visit this board. Look....4 smileys already.


I also tried Safari just now, and it works as well.

Nothing in UserCP can help, and even if there is no smiley setting in UserCP, it would be irrelevent in this situation anyway, since I can obviously post smileys. I posted one in this thread before as well, and said I used the Camino browser.

Anyway, thanks I guess. Hope nobody else has this problem.

i got it fixed now
