LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Carrie Underwood has dated high-profile celebs ranging from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo to “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford, but the country star says it’s NHL star boyfriend Mike Fisher that she’s stuck with the longest.

“[It’s been] close to a year now,” the former “American Idol” winner said during an appearance airing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday. “That’s the longest relationship I’ve had. I joke and say my dogs are the longest relationship ever.”

At first, she admitted, she was put off by the idea of dating a hockey player.

“We had a friend, one of my band members was trying to hook us up,” she said. “He was like, ‘I have this guy for you,’ I was like, ‘Oh, that’s great. What does he do?’ ‘He plays hockey.’” Her next question? Whether or not he had his own teeth.

“No, but he’s got a really good dentist,” Carrie said her friend answered, adding that Mike’s Ottawa home was a bit far. “I love Canada, but that is a long distance relationship. “We see each other more than people think we see each other,” she explained. “We don’t go out publicly, we just do our thing.” However, while the stars are spending time together, don’t expect them to shack up any time soon. “No, call me old fashioned,” Carrie said. “The next guy I move in with will be my hubby. Whoever that is. I’m not saying it’s going to be him.”

Ellen had other plans for her, teasing Carrie that they were going to get married and have babies. “Why not? You have a calendar?” Carrie said. “We can just start filling in dates.”

Underwood and three-time Grammy Award nominee Leona Lewis will each perform at the gala, which returns to the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood as the network celebrates its third year of honoring everyday people making a difference. Kidman is scheduled to join celebrities Kate Hudson, Neil Patrick Harris, Pierce Brosnan, Dwayne Johnson, Eva Mendes and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as presenters. Additional celebrity appearances are expected to be announced in the coming days.

Last year’s show included appearances by Hugh Jackman, Salma Hayek, Cameron Diaz, Forest Whitaker, Meg Ryan, Terrence Howard, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale and Lucy Liu, with performances by Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys and John Legend.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper hosts the star-studded gala, which will be seen around the world on November 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the global networks of CNN.

The variety show, called Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special, will combine singing, dancing, skits, and showcases. Performing alongside Underwood will be fellow Idol alum David Cook, country superstar Brad Paisley, Kristin Chenoweth, Christina Applegate, and the biggest draw of all: icon Dolly Parton. Twenty-something superstar Underwood shared which collaborations got her most excited with Zap2It.com. She said she’d never met country music legend Parton before they worked together on the special. “I was so excited to get to talk to her and obviously be able to sing with her,” Underwood said. “It was a special moment, a dream come true.”

“When Dolly’s there, you step out of the spotlight and let her do her thing,” she wisely concluded.

Equally enjoyable was the fabulous blond triple bill of Underwood, Chenoweth, and Applegate. “They both have great comedic timing; they know what they’re doing,” Underwood said of the actresses, who’ve both starred on Broadway. “We ended up doing a medley of sorts, throwback songs, the ‘50s-’60s vibe with matching dresses. Country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will play a free concert in downtown Nashville, Tenn., for ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Nov. 10, one day before they host the 43rd Annual Country Music Association Awards.

Paisley and Underwood will perform the special show on the Sommet Center’s outdoor plaza, according to CMT.com. The show is open to the public.

Underwood, who hails from Checotah, and Paisley are co-hosting the CMA Awards for the second time. The awards show will air live from the Sommet Center on Nov. 11.

The co-hosts also will appear on “The Late Show with David Letterman” on back-to-back nights next month.

Underwood will perform on the late show Monday, Nov. 2, the day before her hotly anticipated third album, “Play On,” is released.

Paisley will play Letterman next Tuesday, Nov. 3.
