Lightbulb Cooking essentials

What stuff do you always have to hand when cooking, what ingredients are essential?

Salt, of course... good sea salt, like Maldon.
Black pepper corns (white pepper for eggs or cheese sauce).
Worcestershire sauce.
Soya sauce.
Fresh garlic.
Cheap olive oil, the sort you can happily cook with in abundance.
Lemons.

And lots more.

Onions should be 1st on the list, agreed. How often does frying onions start a recipe?

I ran out the other day, it was quite alarming.

Tinned tomatoes I use a lot too.

butter...

oh! Chicken broth I always use instead of water.

I love butter, so much better than the so called healthy alternatives.

Is that home made broth? If we have roast chicken I love making broth or stock from the bones but ready made is handy.

Sweet, I look forward to cooking for you.

I don't use that much cream but if I do it makes mashed potatoes delicious and cheese sauce even more yummy.

I love ketchup on my over-easy eggs. just a little bit.

as for while cooking.
100% pure corn oil
salt-n-peppa covered in oil doing the cooking for me.

thats all.

I have spices, lots of damn spices.

I hate curry.

I have little access to decent ingredients.

Usually try to keep some Maida flour and yeast kicking around. Can't find any proper bread flour so need to make do with it. Not really all that suitable for my needs but best I can do.

Chocolate with everything.
