Default Who can ever be truly fulfilled?

Who can ever be truly fulfilled? Only a mother and a solider in war.

I think I'll have to join me up in them armed forces and get me a gun, then. Motherhood doesn't look like it'll ever happen for me.

Nevermind. I like being unfulfilled. In my experience the times you feel the worst is when you have everything you've ever wanted, because that's when you realize you still have a big ass hole in your soul, because the damn thing is most likely only there in the first place for evolutionary purposes, to push us monkeys to go higher up in the tree, then stand up once we've reached the top, so that we can see what's above the clouds, and so on into infinity........

Oh Gawd. I'm getting profound. I must need sleep.

I don't know if my statement is true but it's just something I thought about... but is the sense of fulfillment lasting?
How do soldiers feel when the war is won? How about the mother who's offspring aren't a part of their lives anymore?

You're right, this could get deep. Sleep then.

Would depend, too, on whether or not the mother wanted children and a home or if the soldier loves the army and his country. I mean, not all women are happy to have a child, and not all soldiers are in the army by choice.

And then of course there's mothers who want better for their beloved children, and soldiers who are pining to be majors.

I think we're programmed to be slightly dissatisfied with everything and just go along trying to pick the things that give us the most oppurtinities to do things that we enjoy. And it does really get a lot more difficult to attribute the meaningfulness of things to anything other than an imposition of the rational structures of the human mind onto the world

My interests vary like a sine wave abd with a little introspection I can sometimes figure it out. Sometimes.

No worries, my little chickadee. YOU can be the mother of my children.

Fulfillment is short-lived, Jo. And there are no victories in war, just casualties and regret .
